Last coffee with his grandfather

It was a normal morning for Juan, which was his turn to attend class, as he had only a few hours left to take his final grade exam. The only thing he wanted was to be at home with his grandfather's company, to sit down and play chess with a cup of coffee, however, when he was entering the classroom where he had to present, he received a call, something that shocked him and he was surprised by the name of the person who was calling him. He asked permission to leave and answer the call.

There was not a very good signal, so he had to move a little away from the classroom, finally I could hear, Juan said to himself. Immediately a tear came to his eye when he heard that his grandfather was taken to the hospital, that moment was very hard for this young man, he left the school without saying anything, he took a cab and in a matter of minutes, he was already there with his grandfather.

When he arrived at the hospital he noticed many acquaintances and relatives of his grandfather, all were looking at the floor, sad and drinking some coffee for the cold, no one commented anything about the health of his grandfather, until he went to a nurse to explain what was happening with his grandfather, which gave him severe chest pain and his breathing was not the best, however, with some medication he is already stable.

Those last words of the nurse, made this young man calm down a little and breathe again for a few seconds, I felt that everything was going well, however, the only thing he wanted was to go to his grandfather's room, so he could talk and enjoy a good coffee with him at that moment. Juan bought the best coffee sold in the hospital, a coffee that was his grandfather's favorite and he always consumed it, besides, he wanted to see him smile once again.

After a few minutes, when the young man had the coffees in his hand, he entered the room, where they both began to cry, since his grandfather was the one who had taken care of him during his childhood, educated him, took care of him and was the one who was preparing him to face the university. The grandfather, in a low voice, commented, what are you doing here, you shouldn't be taking your exam. Juan did not know what to say, so he kept quiet and changed the subject, since he wanted to be by his grandfather's side during those last moments.

When he handed the coffee to his grandfather, his smile was very big, he felt relieved and with a lot of strength, since that was what he needed at that moment, since he is an old man and all his life coffee has been present. They both took a sip with great care, since it was hot, but that sip of coffee allowed them to remember many happy moments they had both spent and now only the memory remains.

Then his grandfather said to him and they began to talk: "Remember that first time I gave you coffee on the sly, because your grandmother didn't like you to drink coffee, since you were too small. The conversation became very interesting, laughter and more laughter, I think it was the happiest moment for Juan, since the worry of his exams did not allow him to do anything, besides he had no time to share with his grandfather.

When he finished the coffee he was consuming, his grandfather, in a low voice, this may be my last cup of coffee that we drink together, my dear nephew, remember that you still have a long way to go and learn, finish your studies. Juan promised that he will be a great person and a professional in the area he specializes in, where he enjoyed that last cup of coffee without his grandfather, it was a priceless moment for him.

Seconds later, his blood pressure began to drop, being the last time Juan saw his grandfather alive. I wish I could repeat all those moments where we had those coffees, but now it won't be the same.
