En una ciudad hay dos mujeres talentosas, donde tienen años tocando instrumentos y durante todo ese tiempo no aparecen en carteles, ni en las redes sociales, no llenan estadios, pero cada viernes regresan al mismo pequeño estudio de Risingstar que les permito crecer. Donde ambas chicas no les interesa la fama, sino algo más íntimo: la necesidad de tocar juntas y poder seguir disfrutando de un ritmo en silencio.

In a city there are two talented women who have been playing instruments for years, yet during all that time they have not appeared on posters or social media, nor have they filled stadiums. However, every Friday they return to the same small Risingstar studio that has allowed them to grow. Neither girl is interested in fame, but rather something more intimate: the need to play together and continue enjoying a rhythm in silence.

La baterista Nina llega primero al estudio, enciende las luces, ajusta los platillos, acomoda el banco, respira hondo, y ese primer ritmo es firme, constante, casi terco. Es la parte de ella que aprendió a sostenerse cuando la vida cambió de planes. Cada golpe es una afirmación silenciosa: sigo aquí y seguiré trabajando en cada ritmo que pueda.

La guitarrista Colette entra después, afina con rapidez y sus acordes no siempre son iguales, a veces suaves, a veces inquietos. Ella representa la parte que todavía se atreve a probar, a improvisar, a desafinar si hace falta. Donde la batería marca el suelo, la guitarra busca el cielo, y por eso es que estas dos chicas se llevan muy bien en la música.

Drummer Nina arrives at the studio first, turns on the lights, adjusts the cymbals, settles into her seat, takes a deep breath, and that first beat is steady, constant, almost stubborn. It's the part of her that learned to hold on when life changed plans. Each beat is a silent affirmation: I'm still here, and I'll keep working on every beat I can.

Guitarist Colette enters next, tuning quickly, her chords not always the same, sometimes soft, sometimes restless. She represents the part that still dares to try, to improvise, to go off-key if necessary. Where the drums mark the ground, the guitar reaches for the sky, and that's why these two girls get along so well in music.

Cada ensayo es más profundo y tiene una cierta cantidad de horas, además se enfoquen en el presente y no hablan demasiado sobre lo que dejaron atrás: oportunidades que no tomaron, sueños que mutaron con el tiempo, ya que eso no le garantiza nada, sino estrés. Pero al finalizar cada ensayo ambas quedan muy felices de cada combinación de sonidos que hacen y siempre se hacen preguntas que flotan en el aire. ¿Qué hubiera pasado si? ¿En qué momento cambiamos de rumbo? ¿Nos presentamos en algún lugar? Y allí cambian su personalidad de músicas a pensadoras, además la música se convierte en respuesta sin palabras.

Eso lo repiten una y otra vez, por eso cuando la guitarra se adelanta, la batería la sostiene. Cuando el ritmo se vuelve rígido, la melodía lo suaviza. No buscan perfección, buscan equilibrio. Entendieron que la vida no se trata solo de volar ni solo de resistir, sino de encontrar un punto donde ambas cosas puedan convivir, entenderse y lo más importante disfrutar de cada música como si fuera la última vez que la van a tocar y escuchar.

Eso las llevo a que nunca dejaron de regresar a ese pequeño estudio de risignstar, porque en ese estudio pequeño descubrieron algo esencial: que todas llevamos dentro un ritmo que nos mantiene en pie y una melodía que nos invita a arriesgar. Y que el verdadero desafío no es elegir una, sino permitir que suenen juntas, al final del día siempre será una gran oportunidad.

Each rehearsal is more in-depth and lasts a certain number of hours. They focus on the present and don't talk too much about what they left behind: opportunities they didn't take, dreams that changed over time, since that doesn't guarantee anything but stress. But at the end of each rehearsal, they are both very happy with each combination of sounds they make and always ask themselves questions that float in the air. What would have happened if? At what point did we change course? Did we perform somewhere? And there they change their personality from musicians to thinkers, and the music becomes a response without words.

They repeat this over and over again, so when the guitar takes the lead, the drums hold it together. When the rhythm becomes rigid, the melody softens it. They don't seek perfection, they seek balance. They understood that life is not just about flying or just about resisting, but about finding a point where both can coexist, understand each other, and most importantly, enjoy each piece of music as if it were the last time they were going to play and listen to it.

That led them to never stop returning to that little studio in Risignstar, because in that little studio they discovered something essential: that we all have a rhythm inside us that keeps us going and a melody that invites us to take risks. And that the real challenge is not to choose one, but to allow them to sound together, because at the end of the day it will always be a great opportunity.
