Hello to all my Hive friends... 🐱

Today I’m sharing a new project with you. This time, I was inspired by a beautiful creation from the talented artisan in our community, @marile21, who has been making a name for herself using this technique to create stunning models out of pipe cleaners. I saw a cute Cuchi carrot she made and wanted to recreate it in a 3D Kawaii style using the quilling technique. You might see me making some other fruits and vegetables in this style soon, haha, since they’re great for decorating, making a pendant, a keychain, and even a couple of jewelry pieces.

Hola a toda mi gente de Hive... 🐱

Para hoy les traigo un nuevo trabajo, está vez me inspire en una hermosa creación de la gran artesana de nuestra comunidad @marile21, dónde elaboró en la técnica con la cual se ha venido destacando haciendo modelos impresionantes con limpiapipas. Observé una linda zanahoria Cuchi que llevo a cabo y pues quise replicarla estilo Kawaii en 3D, en la técnica de quilling, por acá les dejo el trabajo de la artesana para que observen mi fuente de inspiración: https://peakd.com/hive-130560/@marile21/una-zanahoria-muy-tierna-espeng-elg.

Es posible que próximamente me vean realizando algunas otra frutas, vegetales y hortalizas en este estilo jajaja, ya que sin geniales para decorar, para realizar un colgante, un llavero y hasta un par de accesorios de bisutería.

• We start by taking a 4mm-wide orange quilling strip. We wind the entire strip around the needle until we reach the end, remove it from the needle, and secure it with extra-strong white glue to form a closed circle.

• Using the tip of a paintbrush, I shaped the circle into an elongated cone, the typical shape of a carrot.

• I applied extra-strong white glue to the inside of the piece to prevent it from shifting or warping; let it dry thoroughly.

• Comenzamos tomando una cinta para quilling de 4mm de ancho de color naranja, cinta la aguja enrollaremos toda la cinta hasta llegar al final de la misma, sacamos de la aguja y sellamos con pega blanca extra fuerte, para obtener un círculo cerrado.

• Con la punta de un pincel procedí a moldee el círculo en forma de un cono alargado, típica forma de la zanahoria.

• Apliqué dentro de la pieza pega blanca extra fuerte, para evitar que la misma se mueva o se deforme, debemos dejar secar muy bien.

• To make the top of the carrot, use 2mm-wide ribbon of the same color. Use the needle to form a closed circle, then shape it using a circle-cutting template.

• Apply extra-strong white glue to the inside to prevent it from warping or shifting.

• Place it on top of the elongated piece, and secure it by wrapping a 2mm-wide ribbon of the same color around it.

• Para hacer la parte de arriba de la zanahoria tomaremos cinta de 2mm de ancho del mismo color, con la aguja realizaremos un círculo cerrado, este lo moldearemos en una plantilla para moldear círculos.

• Aplicaremos pega blanca extra fuerte en su parte interna para evitar que la misma se deforme o se mueva.

• Colocaremos en la parte de arriba de la pieza alargada, y pegaremos pasando una cinta del mismo color de 2mm de ancho alrededor.

• To make the carrot’s leaves, I used 3mm-wide green ribbon and cut out three open circles—one slightly larger and two smaller ones, which will be the leaves on either side.

• Once the circles are ready, we’ll shape them into leaves and glue them in groups of three, then attach them to the top of the carrot with glue.

• To finish off this Kawaii carrot, I added eyes and a little mouth by cutting out two small circles from black cardstock and a line for the mouth, then gluing the pieces onto the face. To make the eyes shine, I used an embossing tool and cold-set white paint to add a small dot to each one.

This is how I finished this cute 3D Kawaii carrot as a decorative figure using the quilling technique.

• Para realizar la hojas de la zanahoria tome cinta de color verde de 3mm de ancho, procedí a realizar 3 círculos abiertos 1 un poco más grande y dos más pequeños los cuales serán las hojas de los lados.

• Listos los círculos los moldearemos en forma de hojas y pegaremos en grupos de 3, luego colocamos con pega en la parte de arriba de la zanahoria.

• Para finalizar y hacer esta zanahoria Kawaii, le hice ojos y una boquita, recortando dos pequeños círculos de cartulina negra y una linea para la boca, pegué en la cara las piezas realizadas. Para darle luz a los ojitos con un Repujador y pintura blanca al frío pinte un pequeño punto en cada uno.

De esta manera finalice esta tierna zanahoria Kawai en 3D en forma de una figura decorativa, en la técnica de quilling.
