Today I’m going to continue with a collection I’ve been working on of simple, decorative fruits that can be used in a variety of ways—you can use them to decorate boxes and bags, or turn them into charms for necklaces, earrings, pendants, and more.

Today I’m sharing a decorative mango made using the quilling technique.

Hoy voy a continuar con una colección que he venido haciendo de simples y sencillas frutas decorativas, a las cuales les pueden dar usos variados, pueden decorar cajas, bolsas, convertirlos en dijes para collar, zarcillos, colgantes entre otras cosas.

Para hoy le traigo un Mango decorativo, realizada en la técnica de quilling.

• Take a 3-mm-wide yellow quilling strip and feed it through a paper crimper on the narrower side.

• I took the needle and picked up the corrugated strip, rolling it up until I reached the end without applying too much pressure so as not to damage the corrugation. I sealed it with extra-strong white glue and removed it from the needle. This will give us a semi-open, corrugated circle.

• I then shaped it with my fingers into a handle, just as you can see in the picture.

• Vamos a tomar cinta para quilling de color amarillo de 3 mm de ancho, procedí a pasar por una corrugadora de papel por el lado más delgado.

• Tomé la aguja y tome la tira corrugada la enrollé hasta llegar al final de la misma sin hacer mucha presión para no dañar el corrugado, selle con pega blanca extra fuerte y saque de la aguja. Obtendremos un círculo semi abierto corrugado.

• Procedí a moldear con los dedos en forma de mango tal y como pueden ver en la imagen.

• Now let's move on to the leaves. I took some 3-mm-wide green ribbon, wound it around the needle, and formed an open circle. We'll need two of these.

• Then I shaped both circles into leaves.

• I took another piece of 3 mm wide green ribbon, made several folds, applying glue between each one, let it dry thoroughly, and then shaped it. You can see the shape I gave it in the step-by-step image.

• Once all the pieces were ready, I assembled them using extra-strong white glue.

• Finally, to protect and laminate my decorative mango-shaped figure, I applied several layers of extra-strong white glue, letting each layer dry before applying the next.

This is how I finished this decorative mango using the quilling technique.

• Ahora vamos con las hojas, tomé cinta de color verde de 3 mm de ancho, enrollé con la aguja y realicé un círculo abierto. Necesitaremos dos iguales.

• Luego procedí a moldear ambos círculos en forma de hojas.

• Tomé otro trozo de cinta verde de 3 mm de ancho, realicé varios dobleces aplicando pega entre uno y otro deje secar muy bien, luego moldee, pueden observar la forma que le di en la imagen del paso a paso.

• Listas todas las piezas procedí a ensamblarlas con pega blanca extra fuerte.

• Para finalizar, proteger y plastificar mi figura decorativa en forma de mango, aplique varias capas de pega blanca extra fuerte dejando secar entre una y otra.

De esta manera finalice este Mango decorativo, en la técnica de quilling.
