Blossoms and Blossoms and Blossoms ~ Beauty of Japan

I wasn't going to do another cherry blossom post, but you guys liked my last so let's do a few more. These are again from the small farming community where my in-laws live. We were there a few days for the spring break, but we are back home now. None of these are quite as impressive as what I already showed you, but they might give you more of an idea or how the cherry blossoms are spread all over the town.

These are again from my smartphone. We came here to relax and let my kids play with their grandparents, so I really didn't even think to bring my dslr. Oh well. Next time I won't be so mindless.

Anyway, let's start with a nearby shrine.

You can see, even while we were here the blossoms were starting to fall. Yes, the photo isn't centered. I had kids on my arm so it wasn't easy to take these! Anyway, the trees were only at peak for about 2-3 days, then they started coming down. I don't know how it was in the rest of Japan, but in this small town the Yoshino Cherry didn't last long this year!

Still, there is a lot of beauty in watching the blossom petals rain down and then seeing the ground covered.

Even around the fields they have cherry blossoms to cheer up the farmers as they work. These here hasn't started to come down yet like the ones at the shrine.

Here is in back of that line of trees you see there.

There is a park not far off that we also went to.

And finally, let's give a close up shot!

Hi there! David LaSpina is an American photographer and translator lost in Japan, trying to capture the beauty of this country one photo at a time and searching for the perfect haiku. He blogs here and at laspina.org. Write him on Twitter or Mastodon.

I can see how it would be hard to stop taking another photo and then another as beautiful as the trees are. They still look wonderful, no matter that they were done on your phone.

I didn't realize the peak was such a short time. Glad you got a chance to see them at their best.

The contrast between the color of the cherry blossoms and the yellow of the nanohana is very beautiful. The area around my grandmother's house was also a bit similar to the landscape in these pictures!
Since she passed away and the house was taken over by other people, I rarely visit the house anymore... but I miss it very much.

As pretty as they are on the trees, I almost love more how they cover the ground almost like snow! It's quite beautiful. How do they smell? We have some trees outside my office that are pretty when they are in bloom, but they smell like crotch. It's nasty!

「はぁー😮‍💨🌸」Sigh..., it's just beautiful, and I miss them very much. I don't see any colourful flowers yet in my area. Some spring flowers are just starting to bloom here, but not yet like in Japan. I remember the smell and texture of Sakura through your photos. Sakura is such a gentle, delicate flower.
