Cat Coins!
A few weeks ago I did a coin post about frog coins. In that post I promised some info about why frogs are considered lucky in Japan. I still haven't gotten to that yet.... within the next few days—promise! In the meantime, today I'm going to now look at some cat coins. This time I did the luck post first, posting last week about Maneki Neko, the lucky beckoning cat from Japan. That info in mind, why not buy some cat coins and hope they come with some of Maneki Neko's luck? Here are a few you might like!
(Note, as usual I am going to use US websites for these coins since I guess most of my readers are in the US. But if you live elsewhere, doing a Google search for the coin name + your country + "coin shop", or some variation of that, might help you find them)
Let's start with this one...
2023 2 oz Sabre-tooth Cat Silver Coin - Ice Age
Because every little kitty still thinks of themselves as a vicious tiger, or at least they act like it. This fierce image is a nice one. And this 2oz coin is still fairly close to spot.
1/2 oz Egyptian Cat Goddess Bastet Silver Round
Too bad it's only a half ounce, but I love the design. Cats have never really gotten over being worshipped in ancient Egypt, have they? They still want us to worship them.
1 oz Colorized Black Cat
As I always say, I usually don't like colorized coins. But they only use black and white here and it does make for a nice minimalist image. I dig it.
2.5 ox Hand-Poured Maneki Neko
And we'll end with the lucky cat which I talked about in that post. It's a little expensive, coming in at around 90-95 bucks, but this would be a great one to get if you want some luck!
Well there you go. There are more I see, but those are some of the nicer ones I see. Let me know if you have any more. I do! I have this nice Garfield coin I got a while ago:
Now whether a lazy, fat, lasagna-loving cat is lucky is debatable...

I like the Smileadon Sabre tooth so I got a pair of them,
I'm curious of the Black cat. Please fix the link. 🙀
Hmm... the link works for me. Here, I'll recopy it. Try this: https://www.apmex.com/product/172984/1-oz-silver-colorized-round-apmex-black-cat
The lucky cat wins hands down or hand up 🤣 !BBH

I have a Garfield Christmas round.
I think the Egyptian one is pretty cool. It is too bad that it is only a half ounce though. Someone shared one the other day that was fish and I really like that one. Especially given the fact that I often fish for that specific fish!
Reminds me of Cot and Kyle (cats of @elizabethbit and @silvertop)!
Nice cat coins! The Egyptian themed round is cool, I wouldn't mind one of those, or the Garfield!

And a silver lover will definitely want to collect such items as their designs are very beautiful.
