Joining Leo Power-Up Day

This is going to be a shorter post than usual. I usually only post once per day, but I see I forgot to do my LPUD post so I'm taking a little bit of time to bang this one out while I'm at work.

I haven't joined Leo Power-Up Day (LPUD) since the first one. As I have written many times since the beginning of the year, my focus this year is on growing my Hive Power. I've been on this network long enough that I think I really should be well above the 10k HP mark, so I am really aiming to change that this year.

I'm making pretty good progress so far. I was under 10k at the end of last year and I'm slightly shy of 13k as of right now. That's not great progress, but it's also not bad. My goal is 25k by the end of the year and I think I might just be able to make it. Maybe. I am just under pace to make it, but I'm doing my best to step up my game and increase my earnings enough to slide in just under the wire.

But anyway, back to Leo. While the Leo guys have made plenty of mistakes along the way, they are also doing a lot right. Threads is the huge one. Threads has been really great and I think it is only going to get better. I may be a little biased because they gave a fair sized delegation to my group, Blockchain Poets to use in curating poems on Threads, but I do think there is a lot to be excited about. Threads could be Twitter for the blockchain. If you don't see how game-changing that could be for Hive, you aren't thinking clearly. If Threads can attract even a small percentage of Twitter users here, that would give Hive a big boost.

Allow me to plug our group for a moment. If you go onto Threads, write a poem or write about a poem, and send it with the #bcpoets tag, we will give you a pretty good upvote for your effort. Besides the reward, it's a great place to meet other Hive poets.

I have also been hosting poetry contests on Threads with Hive SBI as the prize. Watch for threads from my account or from the @bdposte.threads account to see when these contests are held.

I earn a little over 100 LEO from my posts which is the minimum amount needed to power-up on LPUD to qualify for prizes. I used my GLX airdrop to fund the other 50 I needed to join in.

Here's hoping LeoFinance can continue to improve on Threads and can use that momentum to push everything in their ecosystem up—like CUB.

I'll be here for the ride!

To anyone else who wants to join in, just like HPUD, LPUD uses the UTC clock. Either go to this great site to convert time zones or just go to the Hivebuzz website and they will have a ticking clock showing how much time is left. (Login, go to the Power Up tab and then scroll down a bit to the Leo Power-Up section. The clock is there.)

All the info about prizes and what not is here.

@khaleelkazi, don't let us down. Keep the improvements coming!

Hi there! David LaSpina is an American photographer and translator lost in Japan, trying to capture the beauty of this country one photo at a time and searching for the perfect haiku.
