Imagine how a common man will be able to get justice, if not for corruption
Imagine how there will be constant power supply, if not for corruption
Imagine how good roads will be available in all our communities, if not for corruption
Imagine how our health care facilities will be of good standard, if not for corruption
Imagine how insecurity will not be a menace in our country, if not for corruption
Imagine how food and water will be affordable to all, if not for corruption

Corruption is preventing so many actions from taking place in countries around the world and it may be difficult for a country to progress if there are corrupt people and leaders in the system.

The problem of most countries especially in Africa is not that we lack the necessary resources to make life easy for the citizens but the major challenge is that our leaders have diverted most, if not all, of these resources to meet their personal needs. Imagine a Governor or Senator diverting the funds that is meant for projects such as agricultural empowerment, construction of roads, construction of schools, equipping of health care centers etc to his personal pockets. This is the kind of action that is hindering the progress of so many countries around the world.

Economies that have been eaten deep by corruption such as misuse of power, misuse of money, power to influence decisions illegally and in an unjust manner, can not compete with economies that are devoid of these factors. It is not possible for an economy where corruption thrives to function properly due to the fact that the laws are bias, that is, it favors some set of people than others. No wonder poverty is the nickname of most African countries - the leaders have refused to share the available resources equally for the benefit of all.

Government contracts are awarded to the same group of people who are able to find their way to the heart of the people in charge and it all comes for a price - you must pay some percentage after it has been awarded. Tell me, how much will remain to execute the project when you have settled people with lots of money. This is a serious issue in our society.

Monopoly is also a factor that prevents action and it also stems from corruption. Corrupt business owners who have the access to government agencies can pay some amount of money to influence the economy of the country by ensuring that all other forms of competition are frustrated out of the market. As a result of lack of competition, they can now increase their prices and people will be left with no choice than to patronize them.

Corruption must be fully eradicated from countries around the world if we want equal distribution of wealth, equity in justice and so on. Corrupt leaders must be fished out, removed from government offices and punished for all the damage they have caused to the economy and well-being of the nation.

Thank you for your time lovelies.

Hello @mercmarg, corruption has eaten deep into every society and it is the reason for so many things left undone due to the funds diverted elsewhere.
