It is a norm for people who see you in the morning to greet you and ask if you had a good night rest. It is more common to give a positive answer especially if you are not close to the person or if you do not want to share any of your personal experiences with them. On the other hand, if you are in a good mood and you're comfortable speaking with the person you may let them know that you didn't have a good sleep for some reasons.

There are some people who do not have enough sleep as they'd like to based on different factors. After the stress of the day's work, it is important to get a good sleep in order to be ready for the next day's activities. But some factors could hinder you from falling asleep and staying asleep for a long time. Poor sleep can affect productivity at work and during the course of the day. It can also contribute to some health issues and this is the more reason it is important to pay close attention to it.

A common issue that so many people deal with throughout our lifetime that affects our sleeping pattern is everyday concerns from work, finances, family and so on. It could be a huge report you need to meet up with the deadline at work the next day or day after, or a recent misunderstanding that you have with your partner that has been bothering you, or the frustration that you have to sort out some bills that came out from nowhere. The challenges that we face in our everyday lives can affect our sleep patterns.

The consumption of alcoholic drinks will do more harm than good to your sleep especially when you are drinking it closer to the time you want to sleep. There are some people who use drink alcohol at night in order to help them sleep better at night but it doesn't always serve the purpose. It may help you to sleep faster but you would have a disrupted sleep pattern later in night which may ruin your sleep for that night. I understand how it is relaxing to unwind after work with a glass of wine or to sit out with the boys over some bottles of drinks while watching a football game but it should not be directed towards helping you to sleep.

You will surely be doing yourself a huge favor if you stay away from caffeine and caffeine related products before going to bed. Caffeine acts as a stimulant to the central nervous system and its effect on the brain is alertness, restlessness, frequent urination among others. Caffeine is a goto for so many students who want to stay awake all night in order to read which is not advisable because most of them take it in excess.

Of course, it is a great feeling to lay in bed watching movies on your phone or scrolling through your favorite blogs and so on before you finally fall asleep. But, all those hours you have used to press your phone may affect your sleep later on in the night. The blue lights from your smartphones, laptops, television screen etc makes it difficult for your body to get a good sleep.

You would enjoy your sleep more if you follow some of these tips highlighted above.
