This is a free-flowing bubu gown with:
Soft V-neck in front
Deep V-back with strap design + bow detail
Loose fitting (no zipper needed)
Short.

MEASUREMENTS USED
Shoulder: 15
Sleeve opening: 11
Hip: 40
Full length: 43 + 1 inch hemming
FABRIC PREPARATION
Fold your 2 yards Ankara into two, then fold again (making 4 layers).
Ensure the length (43 + 1 inch) is well aligned.
The folded edge will form your shoulder line.
CUTTING PROCESS
Mark Body Width (Loose Fit)
Use ¼ of hip (40 ÷ 4 = 10)
Add 4–6 inches allowance for free bubu flow
Total = about 14–16 inches from fold
Mark straight down from chest to hem.Shoulder & Sleeve
Mark shoulder = 7.5 inches (half of 15)
From shoulder point, extend outward to form sleeve
Sleeve length can be 8 inches
Mark sleeve opening = 11 inches round (5.5 each side)
Shape slightly for a soft sleeve curveNeckline Cutting
Front:
Width: 3 inches
Depth: 7 inches
Shape into a clean V neckline
Back:
Width: 3 inches
Depth: 9 inches
Cut deeper V


- Back Design
To achieve the exact back style:
From the deep V-back, measure downward spacing (about 2–3 inches gap)
Create 2 horizontal strap lines across the back
Each strap should be about 1.5 inches wide
Cut open spaces between straps carefully.
Use remaining fabric to cut clean straps if needed
- Cut Bow Piece
Cut a rectangle (about 10 x 6 inches)
Fold, sew, and turn to form a neat bow
Set aside
SEWING PROCESS
Join Shoulders
Place front and back together (right sides facing)
Sew shoulder lines neatlyFinish Neckline
Use bias neckline
Attach trimming bias to the front part alone
- Construct Back Straps
Fold strap pieces neatly and stitch
Attach across the back opening
Space.
Make sure straps are firm and straight



- Attach the Bow
Fix the bow at the center of the back
Sew firmly on top of strap area



Attach the side pocket to the dress

- Sew Sides
Join both sides from sleeve down to hem
Leave sleeve opening free
Maintain loose fit.

Hem Sleeves
Fold sleeve edge
Sew neatlyHem Bottom
Fold 1 inch (hemming allowance)
Sew clean straight hem

FINAL FINISHING
Trim loose threads
Press neatly
Ensure neckline and straps are balanced
