Good day DIYHub family 😊✨
I’m excited to share with you the making of this beautiful top!
It’s a stunning off-shoulder design featuring:
A flowy triangle (handkerchief) shape
Stylish cut-together sleeves
A perfect fit using your measurements with added ease
The best part? You can achieve this elegant look in just 1 hour! ⏱️✂️
Stay tuned as I walk you through the simple steps to create this lovely piece. Let’s sew something amazing together! 💕🧵

Measurements

Bust: 35” + 1” ease = 36”
Waist: 26” + 1” ease = 27”
Waist Length: 16"**

Fabric Requirement
1½ yards Ankara
Matching thread

✂️ Cutting Process

Step 1. Prepare Fabric
Fold your Ankara into four (4 folds) to form a square. Since this is a triangle handkerchief style, the top is cut as a loose poncho shape with a pointed hem.

Step 2. Form the Triangle Shape
On the folded fabric, measure from the top corner down to your desired length (about 25–28 inches depending on how long you want the points) I use 28 inches for mine.

Mark a diagonal line from one side to the other to create that triangle handkerchief effect.

Cut along the diagonal—this gives you the pointed edges.
After that I separate the back and front.

‎🧵 SEWING PROCESS

‎step 1. Hem First
‎Hem all raw edges:
‎Neckline
‎Sides
‎Fold twice and stitch

IMG_20260620_110150_079.jpg

‎step 2. Join Front and Back
‎Place right sides facing each other
find the midpoint
‎From the midpoint:
‎Measure 9 inches to the right
‎Measure 9 inches to the left
‎(Total shoulder = 18 inches)
‎At each 9-inch mark.

‎Shoulder hold point (2 inches) width ‎This creates a slight shoulder hold area.
‎Leave the upper part open for off-shoulder effect
‎The sides remain partially open to form flowing sleeves

Shape the Side

Mark Bust and Waist
‎Bust Line:
‎From shoulder line, measure down 10 inches
‎Apply bust formula:
‎35 ÷ 4 = 8.75 + 1 inch ease = 9.75 inches
‎Mark outward on both sides

‎Waist Line:
‎From shoulder, measure down 16 inches
‎Apply waist formula:
‎26 ÷ 4 = 6.5 + 1 inch ease = 7.5 inches
‎Mark and curve slightly ‎run a stitch on it.

IMG_20260620_120908_182.jpg

‎Do not overfit, keep it slightly loose
‎Leave enough space for easy wear
‎Finishing Touch
‎Press neatly
‎Ensure neckline sits well on the shoulders

Final look

Ohhh, thats very fashionable. The color and pattern is also really pretty 🌟💃. I'm curious if that will also look good with a short or maybe long skirt 🤔
