Season Hunt Challenge - Bare Trees

avatar

This is my entry post for the Season Hunt Challenge by @barbara-orenya in the Feel Good Community! This is the seventh week and the theme is Bare Trees. It is also the last week of hunting for Autumn! You can learn more about the contest and how to enter HERE!

My photos for today's post were all taken at three different parks or areas in Baltimore County, Maryland. This first photo is the only one that I have today from Cromwell Valley Park. It is quite possibly the biggest tree there although I don't know that for certain. It sits on a hill by itself and seems to dwarf not only the picnic table beneath it but the surrounding trees and brush as well. It looked especially forlorn standing bare on the hill on the overcast and damp day that I was there.

The next several photos were taken at the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park.

There aren't many Evergreen trees in this area of the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park which makes the bare trees stand out even more.

My last photos were taken at Loch Raven Reservoir which I think is more of an area than a park. There are a lot of trails around the Loch Raven area but I've only been on a few.

This is my last photo and it overlooks a little island in the reservoir known as Goose Island. It is just a spot of land with a few trees and shrubs on it. There are a lot of waterfowl around Loch Raven and usually you can see a lot of geese on the little island out there. Geese, and or ducks and or (on this particular day) seagulls. 😉

These bare trees springs back to life in spring spring correct? We just have two seasons here and no bare trees unless they are dead lol. That last photo I see a lot of birds there. Must be a good spot for bird watching.

Thanks so much @mhel!! Yes, most will come back. We usually get all four seasons but never enough of Spring and Fall..lol. It is a great spot for birding although mostly for geese, ducks and seagulls. I did see a Bald Eagle there once but it was soaring by so fast. I couldn't get a photo but I was still happy to have seen it.🙂💖

Wonderful catches for this hunt @deerjay. In the first photo I can only imagine what that huge tree looks like in summer with a full foliage. No wonder they placed a picnic table underneath it. The trees do make the surroundings a bit forlorn, doesn't it? But knowing that these trees will also make the same surroundings bright and colorful come summertime makes me in awe of nature's beauty and majesty. Great post and best of luck with the draw 😊

Thanks so much @gems.and.cookies!! You know, I don't recall seeing it in summer but my memory can be awful sometimes. I think I would be nervous to sit under it because I'm sure it is very old. Be my luck to have a limb break off and make the news..lol. Nature is my therapy often times and I like to see the beauty in all of the seasons. Good luck to you also @gems.and.cookies in the lucky draw! 🙂💖

Thank you very much @tali72!! We are lucky as far as having some nice parks. I don't know that I've photographed this tree during Spring or Summer. If not then I should make it a point to do that. It is pretty big and seems to loom large over everything around it. Very pretty in its setting. 😊💖
