Season Hunt Challenge - Hot Drinks
This is my entry post for the Season Hunt Challenge Week 13 by @barbara-orenya in the Feel Good Community! The theme this week is Hot Drinks! You can learn more about the contest and how to enter HERE!
If you had a choice of marshmallows or whipped cream to top off your hot cocoa or hot chocolate which would you choose? For me it would be whipped cream! I love marshmallows too but given the choice whipped cream would be my "go to" topper!
Coffee is another hot drink that people have preferences on! I used to drink it black but now I prefer a little creamer in it. My favorite is amaretto creamer but if I'm out of that then just plain creamer is fine. Of course, that is when I make it at home. If I get coffee out them I will sometimes get peppermint mocha. This is a cup that I made at home with the amaretto creamer and a little biscotti is always a welcome accompaniment.
I have a good assortment of teas on hand and these are just a few varieties! I do enjoy a nice hot cup of tea occasionally. My favorites are the apricot tea and Sweet Dreams tea by Bigelow. Bigelow Teas have quite a few varieties and I always have the Sweet Dreams and Mint Medley varieties on hand.
The Sweet Dreams tea by Bigelow is a very good tea to have before bedtime but another hot drink that I've found is good before bed is a mulled wine known as Gluwein. Years ago I visited a little cafe that made their own Gluwein and it was fantastic. Unfortunately, they are no longer open but there are a couple of brands of the mulled wine that can be found here in some stores.
Not quite the same but will always do in a pinch .. I mean for a good night sleep and all! 😉

Whipped cream for me as well. I prefer it to marshmallows though the brand Swiss Miss does have marshmallow cocoa which is rather tasty as well. I also prefer my coffee with cream but with sugar. I like my coffee sweet. I've also heard of Bigelow but I don't think my wife buys this brand. Also my wife makes our own mulled wine from a recipe book she found. She kind of twitches some of the ingredients to make the taste more to our preference.

Thanks so much @gems.and.cookies!! I wasn't sure that I would get this one up as I'm having some computer problems. Luckily, most of my post was done though. I usually buy the hot cocoa with marshmallows also but add more when I make it but if I have whipped cream then I add that as well..lol. My daughter has made her own wine and sangrias and such. I don't quite understand what's in the bottle? 🙄 do you add it to tea or should you warm it up and drink it? I really like mint tea but never drink peppermint coffee 😀
Hi @tali72 and thank you!! That is the mulled wine already made with some spices in it. You just warm it up. I drink more tea now but if I buy anything out it will usually be coffee or a soda but I try not to indulge often in either of them. It is also cheaper to just make something at home. Wow!!! ready to use mulled wine!!! it is very comfortable. of course it is better and cheaper to cook it yourself, but if for some reason you cannot do it, then having such a bottle of mulled wine is very handy. thank you very much! And you too!!!

Thanks so much Jo!! I'm perfectly okay to have both..lol. I used to only drink coffee black but I've been drinking more tea as it is easier with my reflux. Granted, I literally just had a cup of coffee..hee hee. I love it but it doesn't love me so much anymore. I'm having problems with my computer again. I'm trying to work around it but if it keeps up then I may have to take a break until I can get it fixed. I'm really hoping that won't happen though. My daughter is gonna look at it later and if my nephew stops by this weekend then I will ask him also. Hope you have a great day and weekend too!! Stay warm and throw a log on the fire for me! 😊💞
with no hesitation, I'd choose the whipped cream !! 😋😋 In fact, the marshmallow thing is cultural : we do NOT drink chocolate with marshmallows in France, or maybe only because of some sort of fashion with the instagram pictures from USA..LoL..but it is not something we do here 😉 On the other hand, whipped cream is a gourmet must we can not escape 🤤😁
Thanks so much @barbara-orenya!! The stores here sell instant hot cocoa with or without marshmallows but the marshmallows are so small that they are almost non-existant..lol. I always add more if I have any but whipped cream is my preferred. I didn't know that France doesn't put marshmallows in but it makes perfect sense. Whipped cream is way more awesome. I love a long black in a cup, one shot and topped with some pouring cream.
On our German trip as we travelled down the romantic Road from Frankfurt to Munich I enjoyed a few warm red and white Gluweins. So many wonderful memories Dee.💜
