[Here I am, ten to seven, trying to get an early start on my post and realizing that I only have about a half an hour or so before I need to get ready to go in for work today…gonna’ do my best, but I thought I had more time than I actually do. 😱]

Was up again at three this morning having fallen asleep about eight. I woke up with a serious thunderstorm going and the dog kind of freaking out. That made for another solid two hours short on the sleep, which seems to be the story these days. 😢 It’s not a matter of catching up to me now, it long since already has and I’ve crashed out in the afternoon for like the past three days. 😡

Still the same old stuff as far as the morning routine goes. I did get a chance to test out the new vote/role feature I got going on Discord yesterday and it seems to be working fine. 👍 Otherwise, though, cryptos still trading sideways and just did all the normal stuff.

Worked on my post for the day and got it published and shared. I guess one thing happened; I got some of my balance migrated over to Mainnet on Pi!

I did have to agree that I wasn’t receiving the tokens to sell them or speculate on the price, so it’s still up in the air what (if any) value they will have outside of the Pi network. So far all it’s cost me is a click a day and my ID (the risky part), so it still has a pretty high risk/reward ratio.

After I got my post done I was already hitting the wall hard. I got an early lunch and laid down, put on Son of Zorn (which is pretty funny…a cartoon He-Man guy living with his family in the real world…they got quite a few big names in there; Zorn is Jason Sudeikis), and passed out for an hour or so.

When I woke up I didn’t exactly jump out of bed, either. Watched a little more Zorn and then hauled my lazy ass out of bed. I had an entire week off from work and had one goal: work on the website. Although I did work on it every day this week, there was only two days where I actually sat at the computer and tried to implement anything.

I did get some done today, though. Went back through and undid everything I did last time I worked because Hive-js is broken with webpack five. There’s a bunch of additional plug-ins and shit I don’t know what they do to install and a bunch of config files to edit, so I guess I’m just going to say “fuck it” on having Hive on the client side (just do it all on the back end 🤬)…it didn’t work and the fixes I tried didn’t work, so I had to go back through and uninstall everything I’d added and then track all the errors in all the config files I edited since those packages weren’t available anymore. 😡🤬😡🤬

Got the site back to functional (where it was before I tried to integrate Hive on the front end) and then started working on the task where I got fatally stuck before…Keychain login.

Of course the docs are terrible and give you no clue as to what the functions return or how they operate, so there’s the nightmare of fighting with that…I still don’t understand why if(window.hive_keychain) worked for a minute and then quit, nor do I have any idea why the handshake function is necessary or what it does.

At the moment I fire the handshake and it did recognize that Keychain was installed and I got the call from the front to the back and returned a memo…now just need to encrypt the memo, save it to the database, and fire the Keychain op on the front end; will probably be about eight errors in between here and there.

I did make some progress, though, and the first steps of the login procedure are working as intended. I’m still having trouble wrapping my mind around the exact sequence of events, and I feel like there’s so many places where an error could occur (calling the dB, writing to the dB, the http request itself, the call to the Hive chain,…I know that most of the time it should work fine, but it’s particularly like node issues that worry me; still, trying to tackle it step-by-step is helping some.

I’d considered going almost entirely with websocket events rather than http calls, but I spent some time today researching vulnerabilities and cross-site hacking and I don’t know quite how to make sure they’re secure. I do have a pretty clear idea about JSON web tokens, though, and I like that they’re stored client-side and can hold information like the username and public active key, so thinking of sticking with a (redesigned) routing system with no events being fired on the backend in response to the front end (I think they can still mess with the socket, but if no actions are tied to it, they shouldn’t be able to actually do anything), I just want it to be able to push a response to the client based on reading blocks from the chain…so overkill bi-directional communication just so I can communicate one-way from server to client.

Still a whole shitton of shittons of things to do, but I’ve been adding to and organizing my ToDo list and at least I did focus and get some stuff accomplished today, even if most of it was undoing what I did before because Hive-js is broken. 😡😭

Wenche made us turkey tacos for dinner and then she went back to work and I watched some more Son of Zorn until falling asleep.

[Woot! Not bad!!! Got it done and nearly 1500 words. 👍🤓]

DShitty has become slightly less shitty recently. Glad to have a new President, I suppose. Not really ever going to make any progress or make much from this, but it more or less just sits there, so it’s fine. Plus it gives me a reason to complain every day.

I have, actually, been going in more frequently on Rising Star lately; a couple times a day anyway. Got my Ego back down to zero and back to slogging missions again. My goal had been to do the millionaire mission, but they’ve nerfed it, so not even sure it’s worth the time.

I did sit down at the computer for quite a while today, but there was nothing to do but wait on HashKings. Of course they come due today when I have work all day…it’s not going to get taken care of at least for now.

I won some more seeds and BUDS from the Pizza giveaways. All the progress I’ve made on this has been from those…if it weren’t for them I honestly would have thrown this garbage in the trash where it belongs a long time ago.

Still got no desire to play Splinterlands whatsoever. It’s not for lack of thinking about it, I mean, I remember to go in and do my airdrop and that stuff, just actively do not want to play. 😡. Mostly all just bots farming rewards anyway.

My SPS drop has fallen significantly and is hovering around eighty at this point. 😭 With only a couple weeks left, I’m not going to worry about bothering with it; it is what it is.

Still haven’t made any more moves with vouchers. I have thirty or so that have been sitting on the market waiting for ages, but they’re still lower than I’m willing to take.

Got my stats for the last week. Although my back has been slightly better, it’s still been bothering me and it has definitely affected my daily step count. 😭 Have to say, with how crazy fucked up my sleep has gotten, that green arrow is a total slap in the face, but that #DoubleDay in there is nice.

Well, I’d intended on doing my Wordles right after I posted today, but as expected, I got distracted.

Don't think I've ever heard of Son of Zorn, and now I'm intrigued! I'll have to give it a watch this weekend to see if it sticks.
