Mar. 16, 23: Routine, Teaching, Errands, WOO Event, TV, and Games

[Urgggg, well, I got an early start this morning and have long since had the skeleton of this post done, but for some reason I'm getting that "I don't really wanna'" feeling getting going on the text...hopefully the old trick of just starting will get the ball rolling.]

I got to bed around nine thirty last night, was up at around midnight shortly and then again around three when I got up and moved out to the couch. Don't quite remember what got me up, I think my brain just started up, and I was out of "bed" at six (before the neighbor's truck started). Ended up just shy of eight and a half hours for the night, so not too bad.

While it was certainly less pressure than waking up at seven, I still only had two hours to take care of the morning routine and get my post done, so I got on with it (did a little token shifting, but cut it short), got caught up with email and Discord, started getting together the pics for my post, and of course, checked the crypto markets.

We got a bit of a pullback today, but nothing too major, and BTC is still up toward $25k. HIVE has come back above forty cents, but why do I have the sense that's it's simply due to being dragged kicking and screaming along with the rest of the market rather than from any strength of its own?

I did, masochistic me, go in and check on my Polygon investments. As you can imagine, they're not doing so hot and I'm back to losing well more than half an ETH. 🤬 I have been considering more and more pulling out, it's just getting to HIVE is a bit of a pain...there's the Leo bridge, but fuck me, funds vanish (it's expensive).

Speaking of ETH, the Shanghai upgrade was successful on the test net and the official upgrade is scheduled for the middle of April. There's still several more upgrades to go before ETH is even worth looking at (in my opinion), but I'm just going to hodl and hope they do my bags right 🤞 (I'm looking at a solid fifteen x on that investment anyway, so from that perspective I'm not doing too badly regardless of what happens).

Got a solid post done and scheduled only a few minutes past eight, got stuff set up for class, and jumped in the shower. We did end a few minutes early (not really enough time to do an entire problem and we'd done a lot already), but today's Calculus class was one of the more intense ones. We looked at Related Rates, story problems, every student's favorite.

Though there isn't really one way to solve them all (since they're all different), they do all share some similar characteristics and I gave them the procedure outline and we just pounded examples for the rest of the time.

Got an early lunch right after class and killed a bit of time on Discord and watching YouTube. I'd meant to get out the door early, but was just about on time, and I hit the ATM and then hit the road.

Turns out I didn't need to detour at all...the highway was shut down at my exit ramp, the ramp wasn't shut. 😡 I wasn't sure whether or not that was the case, but took a risk, and ended up just having my normal drive in.

For Calculus II we had a pretty easy day today. We didn't cover any new material, just reviewed for the exam coming up this weekend. After we went through examples of the types of questions on the exam, I fielded some more questions (mostly about the homework).

There was one problem, though, that I'm embarrassed to say I didn't recognize immediately...were a couple different rabbit holes I could have gone down, and I started, but some students helped me out. Not sure why it bothered me so badly, but I couldn't seem to let it go for most of the evening.

We ended class about a half an hour (at least) early and I headed home. Spent most of the drive thinking about the Mythix forging mechanic. Not sure if I can say I made any major progress, but I'm solidifying the ideas I came up with the other day, so I guess that's something.

Since today was Thursday, I cruised past the house and into town to run my errands to the smoke store and the puffity-puff store. Both this week and last week I got an extra eighth for a dollar. 😁 I don't mind that at all!!!

From there I headed home, got my lounging clothes on, and then went to check on Discord only to find an event happening over in the WOO server! 🤩🥳 Was awesome, Booker gave away a bunch of lands and reward cards (everybody won something - love that 🥰) and we even had a bonus bet at the end that we would have all gotten land cards if it had been Gold belt...unfortunately, it wasn't, but we were all certainly abuzz at that point. 😀

Quit out around about the same time that Wenche finished with work. She was scheduled for a waxing appointment this evening, but it was postponed, so she made us some French toast for dinner.

We watched some Dog Whisperer for a while, got ready for bed, and I did some laps around the house to finish out my steps for the day, but there was this chick literally crying that her parents hadn't given her any confidence in herself (which explained why her dog was an absolute monster) and I'd had enough. I took over the TV and put on some Letterkenny before falling asleep.

[Not too shabby! Despite not really feeling it, I cranked another fifteen hundred words with ten minutes to spare (edit, edit). Let's hope I can keep that sort of productivity trend going for the rest of the day.]

Splinterlands:
Well, huh, that sucks. My Splinterlands rental income fell by like fifty percent today all the way down to a dollar. 🤬😭😱 Don't ask me wtf happened to cause that 'cus I dunno. 🤷‍♂️

I still seem to be in all-out stake mode with just about everything these days. My SPS interest for today was no exception. I am running pretty low on liquid to blow on other stuff as a result, though, can't I have my cake and eat it too?

dShitty:
No crime or crises in my dShitty today and my SIM income held stable. 🤯😮 My holdings reward did bump up a little, but it's looking like we're coming toward the end of that increase, only about thirty percent left to go. Meanwhile, I continue to send over what I get from pools and stuff to try and help that balance keep growing.

RS:
Trying to remember what happened over on Rising Star today...seems like I ran a lesson and a mission, but the days blurr together. I seem to recall having about eight percent worth of drunk fans too, but that might have been yesterday. (Nope, durr, might help if I actually look at the picture, that's currently 😝) Either way, for now I'm pounding missions...toward what end? That is an entirely different question.

I did win three more cards at the Raven Event a couple days ago, but they haven't been sent out yet. 🥺

I guess I need to see if there's any way yet to try and extract at least a little more value out of MOTA than the near 100% loss I'm looking at otherwise...I kinda' feel bad even trying to get out of this since it means some other sucker would have to buy my cards.

GLX:
As I said before, I'm stuck on the "hoard it all" setting and once again I staked all the GLX from today. I have noticed a slight increase in my airdrop reward from before, but I'm still below seventy a day (when I was around eighty per day when I started pulling out half and staking half).

WOO:
Did my normal stake and delegation rewards claim and got the airdrop staked up, but no mining rewards again today.

I did get lucky and discovered that there was a pack opening going on, and though my luck didn't extend to getting a land card, I did get a new reward card and sunk it into the pool. 🤑👍
