DRAWING PHOENIX WITH COLOUR PENCILS FOR MY SUNDAY-CREATIVE

Hello Hive Learners and happy Sunday for all of you...

Hallo Hive Learners, and happy Sunday to all of you. As you already know that every Sunday we will make Sunday-Creative posts and this time I will also make my Sunday-Creative posts for this week.

As usual, this time I'm going back to drawing, more precisely this time I'm going to color. And I happen to be not at home at the moment, and usually I bring along my drawing tools in my bag, but for some reason I forgot my pencil today, without my favorite pencil I can't draw, but I still have colored pencils which time I will use this to make my Sunday Creative post.

My object this time is the Phoenix Bird, this legendary bird is certainly not real, but this bird is known throughout the world as one of the sacred Mythological animals, and this time I want to draw this animal on my paper.
So, let's check this out...

For the drawing tools, I use the usual tools, that was:

  • Paper A4
  • Colour Pencils
  • Water Colour ( If needed )

Because I forgot to bring my pencil, so I only use the tools above.

As usual, we'll start by scraping to find the shape we're looking for, as well as the initial schematic of the object to be drawn. This drawing is a bit more difficult than usual because this time I just happened to be using Colored Pencils and this made things even more difficult. I also used a different technique to make each stroke with colored pencils. Because I can't erase it easily, so I can't make any mistake in this matter.

The technique I use is to stroke in one direction, not like painting as usual where the hand movements can be repeated from top to bottom and bottom up, in this case if I draw a stroke from above, then I have to repeat it again from above for the next stroke, and it is very tiring.
For this phoenix image I started my work on the head first.

For the head and neck I used red, and at the end of the neck towards the back I made a slight faded red gradation to create a beautiful effect later. Gradation effects like this can only be done if we use a coloring technique with one-way streaks like I said earlier. Closer to the end, the color fades, and in the first image, I pressed down on my pencil a bit to make the color stronger and the longer I drag, the more it fades, this is where the gradient effect lies.

At the bottom, I added a yellow color which I made a bit orange, I pulled this color from the bottom with one pulling direction without pacing. I will collide this color with the red tip in the center of Phoenix's back, since yellow and red are a perfect mix I think this will be very good later.

After blending them you can see the red and yellow blend there, they turn orange in the middle and this is what I was looking for. After I'm done with that, I proceed to the wing first so I don't remove the schematic from the object later. Because I didn't bring my pencil, I couldn't sketch it first and immediately scratched it with color, of course this was very risky.
For the wings I used blue at the base.

Still with the same technique, I scratch from the base of the wing to the outside of the wing with a one-way pull technique. You can see the resulting color gradation and the finer strokes on the outside of the wings, and it is this smooth part that will play an important role when mixing colors.
I mixed it with green because blue and green are good colors to combine, I stroked the green from the outside to the inside of the wings and the meeting with the blue in the middle is really beautiful.
On the tips of the wings, I added rough straight strokes with a dark green color making my Phoenix wings perfect.

After finishing, I continued to the left flank with the same technique, you can see very clear scratches there. Each color has its own stroke and blends well to produce spectacular gradations.

Next I finished the tail, and here for the first strand I used dark green and stroked it roughly, after that I overlaid it with bright green in between the first strokes and got a nice blend of green. The process of dyeing every part of Phoenix's body was very long and tiring.

For the second tail strand, I used pink and orange, this color combination is the perfect combination of bright colors and fits very well. For that I used this color on the second strand of the tail while still using the same technique, I stroked the pink color roughly and the orange color filled in the gaps.

Lastly, I made the legs black, I also added small strokes near them with orange, red, and pink.
And here comes my Phoenix is looking perfect...

That's my Phoenix picture for today's Sunday-Creative, hope you like it and see you on next week's Sunday-Creative post.

Cool. This art style looks unique and amazing, but I wonder, what about a bigger painting how good will it be?
