DRAWING RORONOA ZORO AS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN ONE PIECE ANIME

avatar

Hello Hive Learners, how are you today...?, i hope everyone is good today and still exciting to make a good content in Sunday Creative

This Sunday Creative I will try to make a drawing of Roronoa Zoro which I thought would be good if I drew it carefully. I tried to copy it from the internet and I think this drawing is simple and easy to imitate even with a little improvisation at the bottom of Roronoa Zoro's character. I'm one of those who idolize the character Roronoa Zoro, even though I don't follow the One Piece anime too far, but I know this character very well.
Instead of lingering, let's see step by step when I draw this Roronoa Zoro character.

Here are the tools and materials I used to draw the character Roronoa Zoro :

  • Pencil ( Any kind )
  • Gel Ink Pen or Comik pen
  • Ruber Eraser
  • Colour Pencils
  • Paper ( A4 )

The first step is to sketch the face, as usual. In this first step, I will focus on finishing the face shape starting with the sketch.

After the basic sketch is done, I'll move on to finishing Zoro's signature face shape, with a smiling mouth while biting a stick. In this process, making hair and eye parts becomes a bit complicated and requires caution or the shape of his face does not resemble Zoro's.

After finishing on the face, I continued on to the body. Incidentally, in making the character this time I only did close ups on the face in the sense that I only focused on the face and a little on the chest and clothes. Clothing like this allows me to easily improvise because the shape only follows the flow and position of Zoro's body without having to focus on the details on his body.

After finishing with a pencil, I then covered it with a gel-inked pen. This type of pen is indeed very suitable for emphasizing lines because the tip is very sharp which allows us to easily reach vital lines and is suitable for the formation of lines on the face.

Some of the pictures I sampled on the internet didn't show Zoro's chest and only showed his head. Because I chose to make Zoro's character with a large outfit, the chest is only slightly exposed and I can imagine drawing his clothes as if being blown by the wind. This process relaxed me a bit, but I had to map out each line I wanted to make so that the drawing and the effect of the fabric blowing in the wind looked real. In this case the lines in the clothes play an important role to make clothes look good and fit.

After the basic image has been formed, I immediately go to the coloring part. Here I use colored pencils which will be suitable for use in drawings using pens. If I'm using watercolors or something, I'll definitely need thicker lines than a pen, I could have used a bigger pen so the lines are still visible after we add watercolor to the picture.

I continued to color the shirt line and also the belt. In this process I first prioritize areas with tight spaces to prevent messy coloring processes. So the part with a large space can be freely colored easily.

I also tried to draw the scabbard on the left side of the character although it looks a bit ugly since this is one of my improvised parts. I also added motifs to Zoro's outerwear, and unfortunately I lost my black paint, I ended up drawing and coloring it with a pen and it was very tiring.

And this is the end result. I imitated each color with the original character, of course I maximized it with my limited equipment. In the process of this drawing I did not miss every detail and characteristic of Roronoa Zoro, such as the wound on his left eye, on his chest, 3D effect with small shading on the face and chest, and also his three jewelries. Of course, every detail is only located on the head and chest, this is not too troublesome but this is vital for the character to look like the original.

That's my work on Sunday Creative this time, I hope you like it and see you on Sunday Creative next week.
