Week 29 is just about to end and there's a lot of fun in the 29th week we've just passed. Many contestants presented their best writings in week 29 and there were also many other contestants who tried to join and join the contest in week 29. As previously announced, this time we will enter week 30 and in this week 30 we will be presented with some interesting topics to discuss in each issue and I think there will be many contestants who will join and also have a lot of fun in this 30th week.
In this week 30, we're going to talk about fear, what causes it and how we can overcome it. I think everyone has their own fears, and so do I. Therefore, I will be discussing my fears a bit in this post, so read carefully.

Fear is a natural trait and this trait already exists in humans as well as other living beings. Fear itself is not a mixed feeling like emotion or the like, this fear itself appears even by itself. This fear itself is caused when someone feels unfamiliar with a thing, object, atmosphere, place, and the like. This is due to their inability to reach their minds and a little sense of anticipation of the possible outcomes of the feared thing. In essence, all living beings will feel afraid if they think of themselves as weaker than they fear and this is the basic instinct of living beings to avoid danger and to survive. Fear also makes us do everything to get rid of it, therefore, threats that cause fear are often used by criminals to carry out their criminal actions.

As I've said before, everyone has a fear of something, or anything they have encountered. This fear is sometimes called a phobia and many of us experience a phobia of something. Not only that, excessive fear that changes a person's character to the thing they are afraid of can also occur when they have a bad experience or are traumatized by it, so their brain system gives excessive danger signals or warnings when a person encounters things or the thing that made him traumatized.

I also have some fears, but most of them are temporary and easily overcome. I've also experienced the fear of losing something valuable, but it's a natural thing and I'm sure everyone will be afraid if they lose the most valuable thing such as their family, property, position, or lover. However, this kind of fear is normal and will not cause a deep trauma, because I think this kind of fear is an anticipatory reaction to the things we love and care about. I've also experienced this kind of fear and because I'm used to it, I take this as a form of anticipation and feeling to keep something I love from being lost. But over time this fear will disappear by itself if we continue to be with the people or things we care about the most.
I had experienced a deep sense of fear when I was a child, and at that time I was at a very unlucky moment for me. Until now, I still remember that incident very well, although it's a little vague because it happened when I was little, but it never disappeared from my memory.

At the time it happened, my mother and I were on our way home from somewhere and the trip had to cross one province because it was far. At that time we took the bus and my father didn't come with us because he was coming the next day and we had to take the bus to get home on time. At that time, at the provincial border that we passed, there was a very severe internal conflict, this conflict involved the rebels and the army, where shootings often occurred in the area. At that time I knew about it and my mother also didn't tell me because she didn't think it was necessary for children under 10 years old like me to know at that time. And the most dangerous thing happened, we crossed the border feeling anxious and tense, moreover there were a lot of passengers on the bus and if there was a shootout, we would definitely be trapped there.

The worst thing came when they stopped our bus and checked into the bus to anticipate any soldiers or intruders among us. The most terrifying of these was that they carried firearms during their inspection, and that was enough to make us on the bus anxious. What's more they threatened to examine it in detail and drop off at the place anyone who proved to be an intruder or a soldier, even though the bus driver had tried to explain well that all the passengers were neither intruders nor soldiers, they still ignored him and this became a tension on the bus until a moment ago.

They would arrest anyone who spoke the national language, namely Indonesian, because soldiers and people from outside the province at that time used Indonesian to communicate. Of course, every province in Indonesia has its own language, and for those who enter another province, of course, they do not understand the language of that province and use Indonesian to communicate. From here the rebels indicated that someone was from outside the province or a soldier, and fortunately all passengers could use the local language and this slightly calmed the rebels' anger.

Unfortunately, at that time I asked my mother about this incident in a loud Indonesian language and this almost got all bus passengers killed because of me. All the passengers were shocked and tried not to look at me, my mother hid me in the window seat, and the others tried to distract the rebels so they believe the voices they heard were only their thoughts. They stopped for a moment and looked at my voice in the middle row, but all the passengers and drivers managed to trick them, then they got off and we made it through the border safely.

From that incident I knew that the incident almost killed me and everyone else. I also feel traumatized if there is a stop on the road, of course this trauma comes from that incident. Even if I can overcome it, this Trauma will remain even if only for a moment if I see things like that.
That's my experience, hopefully it will be a valuable lesson for you, thank you and see you in another post.

Special thanks to :

Everyone must have fear, some are temporary and some are permanent because of trauma. The story of your fear is very pronounced because in our area there have been conflicts in the past. 😁

Wow... That must have been really traumatic for you. Good a thing everyone covered in the bus and no one was hurt. It would have been a different story altogether.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
