SKETCHING BUMBLEBEE TO MY SUNDAY CREATIVE

avatar

Hello Hive Learner wherever you arei hope everyone doing great today and still exciting to make your own Sunday Creative

I'm so happy that today I'm back to making my Sunday Creative post. I've been wanting to get back to making Sunday Creative posts and luckily today I had the opportunity to do so. This time I will try to draw something as usual and this time I will try to sketch the Bumblebee character from the Transformers movie. You must be familiar with this one character or character and so am I, who is one who really likes the Transformers movie and I also certainly really like every character in it.
And the sketch for Sunday Creative this time is arguably the hardest and longest drawing I've ever made, and it's also the first time I've tried it.
So, let's see my steps in sketching this character...

First of all, of course, we must prepare the following tools :

  • Pencils
  • Rubber Eraser
  • Paper ( A4 )
  • Ruler
  • Pens ( Opsional : If you want to make the lines more defined )

Step 1 :
In the first step I did the usual thing, which was to make a guide line for the frame and for my guide in determining the location of the parts I wanted to draw.
If you can already imagine or estimate the location of the image, you can skip this stage. But for me, this is important especially when we are going to draw a complex object like the one I'm going to draw this time.

Step 2 :
In this step I'm going to start with Bumblebee's head first. The process this time must be done in parts and must be completed first before I can continue to other parts, and the head is the first part that I do.

Step 3 :
I finished this part to completion and I spent at least 40 minutes in this part and this is the result. I tried to imitate it and understand the location of each object in this section from some pictures I saw on the internet.
I'm not looking at just one picture, I'm looking at several pictures from different angles so I can understand the concept.

Step 4 :

After finishing on the head of Bumblebee, I continue to the chest and left arm of Bumblebee, because I want a detailed sketch, I will try to understand some pictures on the internet and from several sides, then I try to understand the concept I want to draw.
In this section I also spent 40 minutes of time making it.

Step 5 :
In this step, I'm directly finishing Bumblebee's left arm completely, and into the finishing stage of his entire arm. Because I didn't find the position of the arm like this in some pictures on the internet and i can't see the example for it, I was just trying to understand Bumblebee's arm from some of the pictures, and trying to understand the location of the smallest parts, this was enough to overwhelm me and spend 1 hour just for the left hand completion of the Bumblebee.

Step 6 :
For this stage I continued to the waist up to Bumblebee's left thigh. At the waist, there are not many small objects because even the size is not too big, all I need to do is adjust the waist to the position of Bumblebee in my drawing.

Step 7 :
At this stage I continued finishing for the left and right thighs and finishing the Bumblebee waist. Fortunately on the left thigh I got a few examples on the internet but only a few, and I still have to understand the concept of the right thigh to make it look harmonious and match the left thigh.

Step 8:
At this stage I have finished both thighs in as much detail as possible. At first I wanted to continue with the legs, because the thigh size was a little bigger than expected, so my paper didn't fit, and I ended it only until this part. And maybe I'll add a little more detail to make it more interesting.

Step 9:
After resting for a while, I proceeded to finish off Bumblebee's right arm up to his arm. This time I chose Bumblebee's arm while holding his weapon, and the creation of this arm took 1 hour to complete. I saw some examples of some pictures on the internet as well as magazines, and I tried to understand the concept and tried to draw it in as much detail as possible.

And this is the whole result...

Here's my Bumblebee sketch for this week's Sunday Creative. Thank you, and see you on the next Sunday Creative.

God I love this! A suggestion though, if I may. Coloring it will make it a lot more lively.

If an arm took you 1 hour, I wonder how much time the entire sketch took you. This sketch makes me want to start sketching again myself. I haven’t done that in a while.

Yes you're right. Incidentally this time I didn't have a good paint, my paint color was no longer bright so I decided not to use it, in the future I will try to buy new paint and try to color my drawing with the new paint.

The total making of this drawing took 5 hours, and that includes my rest time in the middle of the drawing process.

This is really badass drawing @deimage. You did an amazing job. If only you had added bumblebee yellow colour to it, it would have been complete 😁

Yeah, you were right Capt.
My colored pencils are no longer suitable for use because the colors have faded. I'll make sure to buy a new one for the next picture
Thanks for the comment Capt, i realy appreciate it. 👍
