My 2020: Just a normal day in my life

avatar

I am a structured person with an unstructured life. This is just how I see myself and I know that there would be at least 1 person (my husband) who would disagree with the first part of my statement.

Despite of my unstructured life, I was excited to see @anomadsoul's initiative to write about a normal day in our lives. At the beginning I had no idea what I would say as every day is different for me and brings something unexpected, but I'm going to give a go anyway!

(this is part of my weekend routine)

Every day I wake up between 8 AM and 9 AM - it mainly depends on how comfortable I feel in bed 😊 When I get out of bed I go to the kitchen and drink 1/2 liter of warm water. It boosts the metabolism and helps to flush out toxins. I've been doing this for over 2 years, and I can say that I feel energized and generally better.

Then I go to the bathroom, take a shower and brush my teeth. I dress like I would go to the office and my day can start.

I go back to the kitchen and prepare my breakfast. I start every day with fruits because they are high in sugar which raises the blood sugar and wakes up the digestive system. This is the official reason but the real reason is that I just love smoothie bowls.

This is where I can play with my creativity and eat something beautiful. I plan my smoothie bowls every Sunday as I cooperate with certain brands too, and therefore need to plan which ingredients I will use and when. I take some photos and then I'm finally ready to eat. People ask me how I can eat something this pretty and I always tell them that when I can make another smoothie bowl anytime.

While I eat, I check my emails and see if there is anything urgent that needs to be done that day. It could be a call with a potential business partner, lunch or some paperwork.

Once I'm done, I start preparing lunch. This is a very important part of my day as I'm working on a recipe book, so I write down every single recipe that I make with some notes on how I could improve it. When I don't feel inspired, I take a recipe that is finished and make it again. They all must be perfect, and therefore it is important to try them over and over again. I'm lucky that my husband works mainly from home (unless he is traveling), so he eats lunch every day with me and gives me his feedback. I like his critique as he says how it really is.

When I finish cooking, eating and cleaning it is already around 2 PM. I make Matcha latte and take a break. This is my 'me' time and I love it. In the past, I used to drink coffee, but it was too acidic for me and I was facing digestive issues. It was difficult to get rid of coffee but then I discovered Matcha tea and was sold. It became my daily ritual and even my husband started to drink it. For now, he stays with Matcha tea but I'm sure that one day he will fall in love with latte too.

Meet Mumu - my favorite cup that I got two years ago in the Alps.

Between 3 PM and 6 PM I sit in front of my computer and work on my blog and Steemit. 3 times a week I use this time to go to the gym as well. And then it's time for dinner. Yes, my life is all about food 😊 When I'm done with dinner, I continue working on my blog. If my husband is done with his work by that time, we would either go for a walk or to the cinema. When we don't feel like going out, we watch a movie at home.

I go to bed at around 11 PM. I make a cup of tea, turn the flight mode on my phone and write in my daily gratitude journal. I've been doing it for some time already and I have noticed that it helps me to calm down in the evening. I put my thoughts on the paper and it somehow clears my mind. When I'm done with the journal I start reading. I usually read for about an hour and then it's the bed time for me.

This is my daily routine but as I mentioned at the beginning it changes frequently. I would like to thank @anomadsoup for coming up with this contest and @ocd, @ocdb and @blocktrades for supporting it.

I hope that you have enjoyed a glimpse of my life.

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!

Martina

Ano, ano, kazdy den :) Teda ked necestujem.. v podstate ma to teraz zivi.

A dakujem! Ano, taka idylka.

First Martina, this is a very nice post in that you show us a glimpse into your daily routine! And second, I think its awesome that you are writing a recipe book, I can imagine you will do really well with it. I've seen all your posts from the beginning, and you can create many beautiful things. Finally, I like that you write in a gratitude journal. Being thankful is a nice thing in general, and many people never think about (let alone writing them down for future remembrance). :)

Thank you Dave. Cooking is my passion and I can't imagine doing anything else at the moment (except of running a restaurant of course :)) I can't do any artistic activity except of styling my food, so I do at least that :)

I think that now more and more young people try to do the gratitude journal. It was a trend a couple of years ago when I started and now I understand why. It really does help and plus it's great when you read the old ones. I always end up in tears (from laughing of course :))

I hope you're doing well!

Howdy Martina! That sounds like a marvelous schedule to me! Very efficient for everything you are doing and those smoothies...wow. I didn't know smoothies could be works of art but those are!

I've never heard of Matcha tea, is that some kind of herbal tea?
