Play of lights and shadows /Juego de luces y sombras

Some time ago I wrote about my friend Raymel's house, a place where the sun creates a whimsical play with the shadows in the afternoons as it penetrates through the windows. The house has an architecture that allows natural light to filter through every corner, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. However, what caught my attention the most during my last visit to his house was the brick wall that appears behind him in the photos I took, as it is located at the back of the living room and on it the shadows of everything that moves in the place are projected.

Hace algún tiempo escribí sobre la casa de mi amigo Raymel, un lugar donde el sol crea un caprichoso juego con las sombras por las tardes al penetrar por las ventanas. La casa tiene una arquitectura que permite que la luz natural se filtre por todos los rincones, creando un ambiente cálido y acogedor. Sin embargo, lo que más me llamó la atención durante mi última visita a su casa fue la pared de ladrillo que aparece detrás de él en las fotos que tomé, ya que se encuentra al fondo del salón y sobre ella se proyectan las sombras de todo lo que se mueve en el lugar.

A few days ago, while we were talking about one of his projects, I observed the projection of his shadow at sunset, on the brick wall I mentioned and I could not resist taking the camera and start taking pictures, looking to highlight the play of light and shadow that was formed. That brick wall, with its different textures, made Raymel's shadow seem more interesting. The light slid softly, highlighting the details.

Hace unos días, mientras conversábamos sobre uno de sus proyectos, observé la proyección de su sombra al atardecer, sobre la pared de ladrillos que mencioné y no pude resistirme a tomar la cámara y comenzar a hacer fotos, buscando resaltar el juego de luces y sombras que se formaba. Aquella pared de ladrillo, con sus diferentes texturas, hacía que la sombra de Raymel pareciese más interesante. La luz se deslizaba suavemente resaltando los detalles.

In photography, the play of light and shadow is essential to create a unique atmosphere and bring out the details of a scene. The brick wall of my friend's house, for example, became the perfect backdrop to highlight the shadows.

En fotografía, el juego de luces y sombras es esencial para crear una atmósfera única y resaltar los detalles de una escena. La pared de ladrillo de la casa de mi amigo , por ejemplo, se convirtió en el telón de fondo perfecto para resaltar las sombras.

Raymel remained calm and cooperative, even striking several poses in front of me. He picked up his tablet, as he does when he works, he's a designer, and I took advantage of the light it cast in the darkness.

Raymel se mantuvo tranquilo y cooperativo, incluso hizo varias poses delante de mí. Cogió su tableta, como hace cuando trabaja, es diseñador, y aproveché la luz que proyectaba en la oscuridad.

He walked over to the window, which had thick curtains, and started moving them, creating a nice contrast of light on his face, and I liked the effect. What started out as a few loose and meaningless photos turned into a small photo shoot embellished with a nice play of light and shadow.

Se acercó a la ventana, que tenía unas gruesas cortinas, y empezó a moverlas, creando un bonito contraste de luz en su cara, y me gustó el efecto. Lo que empezaron siendo unas cuantas fotos sueltas y sin sentido se convirtió en una pequeña sesión fotográfica embellecida con un bonito juego de luces y sombras.

We also went up to the rooftop where I took a photo of him in broad daylight while we observed our surroundings, my friend is really photogenic and likes me to take pictures of him, I am one of those who always reuse unless I have a source of inspiration as happened to me that day.

También subimos a la azotea donde le hice una foto a plena luz del día mientras observábamos nuestro entorno, mi amigo es realmente fotogénico y le gusta que le haga fotos, yo soy de los que siempre reutilizo a no ser que tenga una fuente de inspiración como me pasó ese día.
