DRAMA FREE– THAT'S MY HOBBY!

Slowly slowly, the day comes to a close. It's 3:49pm at the time of writing this post and most of my tasks are done, making this post the last for the day.
I have seen a lot of posts from the Minimalist community but I held back from participating for two reasons:
I don't like to rush. I like to sit and plan.
Before I enter any new community, I try to engage with the members first.
Clearly, I am making this post because I have done both.
So to kick off, I would start with participating in the #KISS (oh I love that acronym) prompt. They asked if it is possible to be a minimalist and still have a hobby. Just for this post, I looked up who a Minimalist was. Although I got a rough idea before that– thanks to English and its Prefixes and Suffixes plus a human's ability to understand certain words based on sound– I still wanted to get a certified definition.
Simply, a Minimalist is someone who sees beauty in less. They are content with the little things and that is where they find pleasure. So, can such a person have a hobby? Aren't hobbies loud, outgoing and expensive behaviours? The truth is no. Someone can just be content with looking at the stars or reading a book.
Then, what are my hobbies?
My hobbies are nothing special but they do a lot for my soul and body combined.

I started reading since my whole life. Story books would always catch my attention and I was always on the look out for new ones. I'd started reading novels at 12. Most of my agemates couldn't even fathom how I'd rather dwell on a big book than play. I got tired of explaining that it was always a magical experience.
As I grew however, motivational and self help books appealed more to me. I still read novels though. As far as 5,000 pages... Too much? Nah. And what's more, I have my phone to get the E-book should I be low on cash. But yet, I prefer hard copies to soft. There's something holding a book does to you...

I wouldn't be on Hive if I didn't love writing. Writing since I was 13, my small pamphlets of stories have been read by teachers and school mates. I'm a fan of Erotic, Crime and Fantasy stories. Most of the novels I wrote and still write are Crime and Romance related. I haven't tried fantasy though– except for short story prompts. Hehe.
I also love to write music. It's one hobby of mine I indulge in once a while. Writing helps me get rid of pent up thoughts and emotions because I hardly relate with people offline. I can tell my audience online anything and find atleast half of them relate to what I'm going through or that they have same passions. It's not always like that in the real world.
If you read my TIME AND TRAVEL post, you'd find that I have a different approach to music and what it represents. Perhaps it's because I share the Melancholic temperament (even if it's just a little) but a lot happens to me when I listen to Music. It's more than just entertainment.
It is discovering a whole new world amidst the chaos and turbulent waves of life. It's more than just listening. It's living, breathing and identifying with the rhythm, flowing with harmony and basking in lyrics. Hehehe...

I like being alone. I enjoy privacy and only let a few choice people into my really small bubble. I like to go on strolls. It not only clears the mind, it exercises the body. I also like doing this with music. Hehehe.
You see? These are really exciting hobbies (for me) that require less attention– financially or physically. You can enjoy the little things and still feel on top of the world. I like a drama free world. I can enjoy these things on my own without involving anyone thereby saving myself some extra baggage.
I invite @esther-emmanuel to write.

This post just describes almost everything unique about you. Some people think having lots of activities and hobbies to do is fun but in the actual fact, small things matter.
Being a minimalist just saves you a lot of stress and helps you minimize your time for important and valuable things. Thank you for the tag, I will sure check out the community's post prompt.

Hello @deraaa
That's the kind of zone I like to enter 😁
I cincur that!
As long as I can remember, self-help books have always appealed to me since I was a little girl. I do hope to get into reading more books, and as you've said, electronic reading devices do prevent clutter.

Thanks for your #KISS
I enjoyed it 😉
lips sealed
I've try to be a minimalist, but somehow I've not achieved it...yet! I find the concept right in every way. Any tips for me?
In regard to your hobbies - excellent. One of them is listening to music. What kind of music do you hear regularly?
We are SO very similar in so many ways that I never knew! hehehe
I really had no idea that we were in sync so much! hahahaha I love that! I feel like we could just sit together - not speak - and read each other's minds! hehehehe
