I ESCAPED: I WAS NEARLY KIDNAPPED!

Hello Hivers and my precious Hive community. I wasn't active yesterday and a lot has to do with it. This happened on Tuesday but I was in too much of a shock to actually talk about it.

JUST LIKE THE TITLE SAYS...

Sometimes, you wouldn't understand the way things have become until you experience it yourself. This year, a schoolmate was kidnapped on his way back from school and killed. I just want to bless God for his infinite mercies because, wow... Do you actually understand that I may not have posted yesterday or today because I was kidnapped? Or worse...killed! The perpetrators who are the Fulanis have taken this thing to another level.

REMEMBER ZAINAB?

I remember talking about Zainab who is a convert. She was with me when this all happened. We didn't fall victim, thank God. If you're in Kaduna you'd grasp a better mental picture.

After exams, we took a bus from Kawo to Kasua. At that Leventis roundabout, me being a really sensitive person, I felt a shift in the atmosphere. Like the temperature literally dropped.

I was listening to music because I and Zainab are both introverted and like our space. So she wouldn't talk and neither would I. We'd just enjoy a comfortable silence till we begin to race to pay the bus fare. She hates it when I pay.

I took out my earpiece and looked around. Zainab must have felt it because she turned to look at me and her eyes brimmed with suspicion.

The whole passengers had highlighted the bus and we were the two left. However, where my senses heightened was when two things happened simultaneously.

The driver's countenance changed and the air about him became really dangerous. Two, the conductor who was formally calling Sabo changed it to Goningora when we got to a group of people. Then, an old man got into the bus at the front seat, he had a quarrel with the driver who was too nonchalant to open the door. Then the oddest thing happened. The man looked warily at the driver and then at the two of us(his eyes conveyed a message I failed to grasp but Zainab did) and then got down with such speed, I thought he'd fall. Zainab then said immediately after, "let's go down". The driver began to move the bus, preventing us from leaving.

I sat up and put my phone and earphones in my bag ready to put up one hell of a fight.

The driver must have noticed my claws because he pulled over at Kano road but then four boys appeared from no where and blocked the entrance of the bus. They'd prevent us from trying to get down.

The driver got down from the car and the conductor was no where to be found.

The driver went to "fix" the the door of the car and began conversing with boys in a language I knew wasn't Hausa because I would have been able to understand little of it.

They were still talking when Zainab cried with urgency that we should get down. We tried to, they blocked us. I remember laughing and saying, "I will shout o".

Zainab barreled through with all her strength and I followed suit. See, it can only be God.

When we finally got another "safe" bus, we weren't talking because of the shock. When we got to our bustop, Danbo bridge, Zainab opened up. She said, "Those guys were speaking Fulani. My language. And they were telling the driver, two are enough."

I reeled back and I laughed but my whole body was shaking. How this would have been, Zainab who dressed like a Muslim would be spared and her family called for ransom. I wouldn't have the same fate. Nigerians you know what I mean.

ALL GLORY TO GOD...

I bless God because, he worked for us on Tuesday. If I wasn't sensitive to the spirit, I may not be alive today. I still can't even wrap my head around it. Yesterday, I shared my testimony during the mid-week service in church and my pastor prayed for me after. There's a blessing he always releases after every service. A blessing I know by heart and carry with me,
"The Lord bless you, the Lord keep you, cause his face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you. There shall be no loss, where blood is wasted yours shall not be wasted rather you would see the recompense of the wicked. The Lord bless you."

I am too Marked of God for the devil to lay hands on and too Graced for destruction.

Please, if you're in Kaduna and take public transport, be prayerful. Not only Kaduna, the whole Nigeria. These are the perilous times.

P.S I'm still a bit overwhelmed.

Thank God for your life. This country is really turning into something else, the insecurities are now too much.

I still remember someone told me a girl was kidnapped when she entered a bike, though she was not the only person on the bike, they were two.

The person at her back used white handkerchief to cover her face, and that was how she slept off. She found herself in Benin road all the way from Uromi Edo state, but she was later released.

Things are really happening in this country and nobody is doing anything about it.

May God save us all👏👏

Lol. I wasn't traveling. I was coming back from school after exams and there are no "safer" options. Unless you own a car or know someone who does.

Omg! You never really how far this goes until you hear it from the mouth of someone who has experienced it. I'm glad you both were smart in the spirit and able to quickly detect that something was wrong.

A lot of things happen in this country, one minute you're safe, the next minute you're not. I'm glad you're okay.

God is merciful, thank God for safety. May God continue to protect you and everyone of us.

That is insane.
I don't know how old you are, but my condolences for having gone through that. You acted braver than I think I would be able to muster!
Glad to see you alive and well.
Can't even imagine living like this. Strength to you.

Oh sorry, just curious - is Christianity (or Islam?) very strong in your area? I see that you and the commenters mentioned God multiple times throughout this. Are you religious?
Not judging, just curious

It's fine. Well, the place i stay is the North of Nigeria and the Muslims are dominant here but we have Christians too.

I don't know what you mean by religious but I'm a Christian and I believe in God and his son, Jesus. 😁 So i guess i am 😀

Oh my goodness Deraaa. My heart breaks for you and what you had to go through💔I can only imagine how scary that experience was for the two of you, and it is incredibly sad that for so many, they are not as fortunate with the outcome. Sending you so much !LUV @dreemsteem

Wow.. I know you're still in shock.

I would warn you to be on your guard from now on, no more earbuds while you're traveling please. Please. Just keep your wits always about you and exit when others are. This is too dangerous.

Here is a song for you - I'm sure you will immediately recognize it. It blesses me so much, I even have chills right now thinking of it - and I'm going to listen to it right now. so if you read this now... you'll be listening to it with me and worshipping at the same time ❤️

you will be SO blessed 😇
Praise God for His protection over you and Zainab
