TIME AND TRAVEL
Travel is always a beautiful experience. Many at times, we just take that road trip for no other reason than to enjoy the scenery and bask in the glory of mother nature. This is always therapeutic even for the most depressed soul.
Of course there are different methods of travel. Road, air, water and rail. I've only been able to travel by road. But I can just imagine the euphoria that must happen in the clouds, floating with the birds or the calm and excitement that comes with the sea and it's boisterous waves or maybe the beautiful scent of the Earth's crust and the low jiggle of the train. These are all in my head of course.
Before I go on to talk about one form of travel that no one ever seems to consider because it's purely "fiction", let me wish all my friends and followers a Happy New Month. It's the second half of the year. I am very happy to be spending it here on Hive. With all of you.
Now, back to the topic of discussion. Time and Travel. Many of you might have guessed that this is about time travel. Traveling through time. You all may also think it's totally ridiculous for me to even suggest something like that, but I can tell you from multiple experiences that it's real. Many don't just know it happens and when they are aware of it, they call it deja vu.
I don't believe in Deja Vu. I don't believe in coincidences either. Things always happen for a reason. So I'll show you why I know time travel is absolutely real.
It is real to me through Music. But not in the simplistic way that may have already crossed your mind. On the 24th of June, I got really nostalgic and felt like going back to the past to revisit my childhood. I do this countless of times. So I knew just exactly what songs to play, what position to lay and how to use the power of my mind. I discovered this secret about three years ago when I longed to escape reality because of my depression. There are no words to describe it other than beautiful.
My time travel starts with songs I listened to most in my childhood or songs that held a lot of memories for me. They can be up to ten but that doesn't matter. Then I wait for nightfall when all is quiet and without distractions. I lay on my bed with my hands entwined on my stomach– a sign of total surrender. My eyes closed, I turn on the music on my headphones and let my mind wander. I don't think but focus on the rhythm of the song. The memories always lie in the instruments so the lyrics may not even matter.
During this period, my heartbeat slows and the world seems to stop. A random picture from my memories would pop up and my relaxed mind would latch onto it. I would feel everything from that memory–joy, ecstasy, tears– you name it. On 24th was a whole new level because I even smelled. Yes. I was having a moment and I could smell from that memory. It's indescribable!
All emotions I had toward that memory then, would come rushing towards me and I always focus on the happy ones. The only time I revisit my sad past is when I want to remind myself how far I've come and how much God has played a part in my salvation.
As you may have noticed, there are linked songs as we go forward. I grew up loving Soap Operas especially Mexican Telenovelas. So most of my happy memories are tied to the opening themes of these songs. Except for these ones:
This song, although gotten from a Mexican series is tied to a novel for me. I was my happiest during the period of reading this novel because I buried myself in a world not my own.
This one too is tied to that same novel. I read that novel thrice because being in love for thirteen years and not being able to act on it is the most heartbreaking and yet sweetest thing ever.
This song was gotten from a comic. However, it is not tied to the comic but to my memories of friendships. I made and lost a lot of friends. I googled the lyrics one time and remember telling myself, "Well, you're the only one who loves yourself this much to still stick around". Hahaha. Weird right?
This last song is tied to a memory I love very much. It's one of my mom and I. We loved the series of this song and bonded over it. I have always kept it since then.
So you see, you can go anywhere at anytime. To also prove that this isn't just a one man experience, here's a screenshot of my chat with a friend of mine. He experiences the same thing except he can go into the future. How cool is that?!

Deja vu, I have them sometimes :D And when happen it is not just one moment. but like in a chain, I realize I have the deja vu and it continues with more and more moments. I love that feeling :))

hi 💗 ... it's almost meditative what you are doing... lying quietly, stilling the mind, the hands over your stomach potentially acting to direct your breathing indirectly, focussing on the song, and letting yourself float away. Very peaceful... the memories that the musical notes elicit and evoke for you are wonderful reminiscings... the fact that you were able to immerse yourself so fully back in those moments as to be able to smell your old environments is quite amazing. Honestly, it sounds quite beautiful, especially when recalling happy memories ❣️I can get lost in music too. There are so many anthems to my life out there. I have never had that kind of sensory connection though... I mean sure I can smell something in the moment and it can take me back to a memory that the scent is connected too, but I have never reminisced that deeply that my senses were stirred to evoke scent too. Interesting piece you have here. I have some nostalgic feelings when I travel back to my childhood. I also have songs that meant so much to me as at that time and you just gave me an idea of what to write about tomorrow. Music is indeed therapeutic. Everyone speaks of how it helps the trouble mind relax and feels it with joy. We are lucky to have music with us.

This is really interesting. Travelling into time through music I think is the best thing that could make a person feel nostalgic.
I love music too and it takes me down memory lane and sometimes, all I want is for such memory to repeat itself again. Music is possible to take you into time travels.

Time and space is like a rhyme & a taste.
The words that leave my lips in flo state seam to radiate their equivalent in the space where my mind projects pictures forward into my vision.
This is when I am traveling.
Not time nor space, the all.
Music can really take you places. With some of my music preferences I wish I was born in the nineties cuz of how great songs songs from then are.

Very interesting time travel post @deraaa, I can see how you can do that. But I am curious as to how you ultimately wound up with all Spanish, you must have learned Spanish early on from the soaps and Telenovas.
