Migrating to Linux to expand my knowledge.

Es común que al mencionar mi carrera como ingeniero en electrónico las personas piensen que mi profesión se basa principalmente en reparar artefactos y diseñar circuitos y en parte hay un poco de verdad en eso pero, hay un punto muy importante sobre esta ingeniería y es la programación, evidentemente no nos adentramos de una manera tan profunda en esa área pero si tenemos conocimientos suficientes como para poder leer y escribir códigos en diferentes lenguajes, generalmente toda mi carrera se basa principalmente en Windows ya que para mí es un sistema operativo muy intuitivo y práctico al momento de diseñar o programar circuitos pero esta semana tuve la iniciativa de iniciarme en Linux, no es primera vez que trabajo en Linux de hecho he probado diversas distribuciones a lo largo de mi vida pero de un día para otro decidí olvidar por un tiempo Windows y adentrarme por completo en el mundo de Linux, debo admitir que estos primeros días no han sido fáciles, cuesta un poco acostumbrase a moverte por el sistema mediante códigos pero la verdad es cuestión de costumbre.

It is common that when mentioning my career as an electronics engineer, people think that my profession is based mainly on repairing devices and designing circuits and in part there is a bit of truth in that, but there is a very important point about this engineering and that is programming. Obviously we do not delve so deeply into that area but we do have enough knowledge to be able to read and write codes in different languages, generally my entire career is based mainly on Windows since for me it is a very intuitive and practical operating system when designing or programming circuits but this week I had the initiative to start in Linux, it is not the first time that I work in Linux in fact I have tried various distributions throughout my life but from one day to the next I decided to forget Windows for a while and fully delve into the world of Linux, I must admit that these first days have not been easy, it takes a little getting used to moving around the system using codes but the truth is it is a matter of habit.

Afortunadamente un conocido me ha orientado en los primeros pasos dentro del sistema y ha sido de muchísima ayuda, mi idea principal es programar en python y aprender a usar el software odoo, no voy a mentir, no es fácil adaptarse a un sistema tan diferente pero debo admitir que no hay sensación más gratificante que ir aprendiendo a moverte por él interfaz de comando mientras aplicas los conocimientos que vas aprendiendo gracias a tanta información qué hay en todo internet, aunque empecé a usar Linux mint actualmente estoy usando ubuntu pero básicamente los sistemas son muy parecidos, espero que esta experiencia adaptándome al entorno de Linux tenga una gran repercusión en mi ámbito profesional.

Fortunately, an acquaintance has guided me through the first steps within the system and has been very helpful. My main idea is to program in Python and learn to use the Odoo software. I am not going to lie, it is not easy to adapt to such a different system, but I must admit that there is no more rewarding feeling than learning to move around the command interface while applying the knowledge that you are learning thanks to so much information that is all over the internet, although I started using Linux mint, I am currently using Ubuntu but basically the systems are very similar, I hope that this experience adapting to the Linux environment will have a great impact on my professional field.

Ser ingeniero electrónico implica mucho más que reparar artefactos o diseñar circuitos, si bien estas son habilidades importantes, la programación también juega un papel crucial en esta carrera.

Being an electronics engineer involves much more than repairing gadgets or designing circuits; while these are important skills, programming also plays a crucial role in this career.

Aunque no se profundiza tanto como en las carreras de programación, los ingenieros electrónicos adquieren conocimientos suficientes para leer y escribir código en diferentes lenguajes que generalmente están orientados principalmente a microcontroladores.

Although it is not as in-depth as in programming careers, electronic engineers acquire sufficient knowledge to read and write code in different languages ​​that are generally oriented mainly towards microcontrollers.
