One of the most consumed beverages in the world is coffee and this has a variety of ways to be consumed, as they say there is something for everyone, about a month ago I had the opportunity to go to a coffee tasting and it was amazing I learned many things I did not know about coffee, such as; depending on the plantations near the coffee plants these will alter its organoleptic flavor, it will have a floral or citrus flavor among other flavors that can be felt if you place yourself to taste the coffee.

That day we were given to taste about 6 varieties of coffee some stronger than others, the one I remember the most was the first one, it was an espresso and it had a citric flavor like lemon and the Barita who is an expert in this subject told us that this coffee had been harvested near some lemon trees, this surprised me a lot.

According to the above, I learned that there is "the wheel of coffee flavors" in that wheel they explain the flavors and aromas that can be obtained from coffee, and this has a correlation with what I mentioned before that depending on where the coffee is planted the coffee bean will take this flavor but also the aroma.

The other thing that I learned that day is that there is a type of pre-washed coffee and this is softer than a robust coffee, which is going to be completely different since it is strong.

Something that surprised me a lot and that I completely ignored is that the best coffee in the world is the "Geisha of Panama" being one of the most exclusive varieties for coffee lovers, and this is super expensive not everyone has the opportunity to consume it because of its high price.

Hello @desic,

it had a citric flavor like lemon and the Barita who is an expert in this subject told us that this coffee had been harvested near some lemon trees

This is surprising for me too:)

I guess the Geisha of Panama coffee is on the list of some of the most expensive coffee's in the world, like the Bourbon Coffee from Reunion Islands, the Civet Coffee, and also the Blue Mountain Coffee from Jamaica.

I do hope I'll one day get to sit and compare authentic cups of coffee from all these places.

Thanks for sharing, have a nice day:)

It would be incredible to be able to sit in one place and taste each one of these coffees and know why they are so exclusive. It was a pleasure to share in this community.😄
