Anywhere, just to get out of the monotony...
"This is my entry for the #monomad challenge"
This weekend I finally left my city after 3 years and used my new passport for the first time. I couldn't sleep the night before for fear of being late.
I didn't go far, to a neighbouring town in Greece, where I've been at least 30 times so far. The town is called Florina, and it is only about 35 km away, but to me, it seemed as if I had gone on vacation.
Earlier, at this time of the year, I became unbearable if I didn't travel somewhere at least 2 times a year. How am I after three years, what do you think?
You can imagine how I was in a hurry when I forgot to bring my camera for the first time in 15 years. No one believed me until I took pictures with my phone.
Florina has not changed much, although it seems to me that there are fewer people and many shops are empty. Yet the cafes are full. People spend the weekend with friends and family, drinking coffee and talking as always, the river is clean, the old important buildings are protected from demolition and the gyros is still the best.
We just wandered the streets, drank coffee and ate ice cream and gyros. Still, I was smiling all day, because monotony is what kills me the most. Even my crappy phone didn't let me down this time.
Some people use words, others use light to say what they feel.
