Where the memories are...

"This is my entry for the #monomad challenge"
One of the most beautiful and popular buildings in Bitola is the Officer's House. The construction of this building started in 1909, but it was finished after WWI. The building is a combination of several styles that draw both to the East and to the West. Until 30 years ago, it was a cultural and exhibition space, but after that, it was neglected for a long time and left to the mercy of time.
It is located on the main street and the scene was not very nice.
However, due to various people's initiatives, it remained in the ownership of the city and it is not allowed to be privatized and turned into... I don't know...let's say, a tavern.
Finally, in 2020, the renovation started and in record time the building got its old glory. Again, various manifestations-exhibitions and concerts are held there.
The area around it, which is a huge green area full of wild chestnuts and other trees, is currently being arranged. Paths and planters are being restored.

However, this building means a little more to me. As a child, I lived about 100 meters from it and there was our main playground and the area where we rode bicycles and played ball in summer and in winter. back then winters were different, we made tunnels in the snow and had fun.
That's why I followed the restoration of the building with special attention, I made a project myself for the restoration of the fountain, which is not shown here and is located right next to it, and with even more care I follow the ground floor arrangement with the hope that no trees will be cut down.
