First Evening Coffee Experience
I've been away off coffee for sometimes but now i am back, hello to all coffeelovers @cinnccf
community!
The darkness was there outside, the sun was gone because the moon already replaced it. Well the night was coming… after our dinner and a bit strolling in a shopping center, we felt a bit thirsty and also a bit hungry. So we then decided to go to a coffee store which was also a doughnut specialist. This local brand always has customers even some loyal customers.
J.CO, block M plaza branch
Located on the ground floor, on East lobby, it had the natural touch wooden color of furniture that could be well seen even from the outside. J.Co had this original authentic color for all of their stores. A warm touch of the nature, I think and it always feel homy and earthy.
They showed in a banner about their new released menu.
It looked interesting, because they showed the milo oreo frappe, dutto and duology doughnut plus hot milo oreo. Well let see would they offered us these new menus inside.
As you could see there, many customers came before us, some of them sat on the outside dining area, while some inside. No different between cause both had air conditioner plus cozy chairs.
Well inside, many customers before us, even we were getting worried about not getting any chairs after we bought coffee and some food there.
The menu, for the doughnut that they had were, when I was looking at it, a waiter opened it. Wow I never know before that this actually was a hidden storage, cool.
Well back to the menu, they had some of the donuts, with the price as you could see above, beside donuts they also had baby donuts, or even j.club (donut sandwich) they had. They sold them by piece of by dozen or any packages.
They had some of the donut variants in their showing glass case. Like you could see they had almond matcha, sprinkle choco, sprinkle strawberry, double chocolate, matcha only, choco in strawberry, and almond. Unfortunately they didn’t have their complete menu that day but it was a luck that they still had some mom’s favorite glazzy donuts in the kitchen, nice!
Beside donuts, now they also offered pastry like croissants, plain croissant, choco au lait, sausage, chicken and some others. And on the top of the rack, they also had some slices cake. Maybe I should try some on our next visit, how do you think of it?
Oh yes there beside donuts, pastries, they also had yogurt, croffle………….
And of course COFFEE! There was a small menu showed their beverages menu placed right before the cashier.
There you could choose between
coffee drinks like espresso, jcoccinno, caramel jccocino, café latte, iced jcoccino, mocha espresso frappe, and iced tiramisu latte;
chocolate drinks like hot or iced chocolate, oreo frappe, and choco forest;
fruit drinks like blueberry or strawberry yogurt frappe and even café avocado (well avocado coffee could also categorized as a coffee drink actually);
and they also had some kind of tea like hot tea, iced thai tea and green tea frappe.
Time to order and pay, there you needed to pay before they processed our order.
The coffee there had standard price, frappe tall at 34k IDR or just around 2.2 USD. While for the donut was just 9,5k IDR each, not even a USD. Croissant was more expensive than donuts, it was around a USD something.
There they had a quite large coffee bar where the barista made our coffees, it was next to the cashier table. It had many coffee maker and any devices to make beverages.
And you could also sit before the bar, or even outdoor. Good that it had a quite large dining area.
The customers were crowded that day, no wonder, it was Friday night, mostly wouldn’t work on weekend.
And the barista called my name, it was my turn to take the order.
We got a table outside, still inside the shopping center so we wouldn’t get the night breeze.
And now look what I got in our tray, we got a Mocha Espresso Frappe in tall size, 2 glazy donuts and a plain croissant.
We had the donuts first. It had medium softness with glazy sugar on the top. It had sweet flavour. Unfortunately they weren’t warm as I had imagine, they would taste better if served hot or warm.
Plain croissant that they sold was over cooked. it was too crunchy and not soft anymore. It lost the moisture that a plain croissant should had. No, it was a no to try it., I mean the donuts were better although this one had been warmed before we consumed it.
And well how about their coffee, we ordered their mocha espresso frappe. It served with whipped cream on its’ top.
Looked messy but it tasted good. You could taste the blend of the chocolate and coffee flavour in a drink, so it was a bit sweet and bitter. Plus it served chilled so you could feel fresh after you have it. It is a good choice of drink and we were lucky to have it even at night.
This was our first evening coffee experience, good thing was we still could have well sleep that night even we had had coffee at night. Hope you could enjoy my article this time, we had a great evening coffee time so i think we have to have more evening coffee next time.
