Cafe Dinner with Mom
Hello, Friends especially Foodies!
Last evening, Mom and I had our dinner outside, we went to a restaurant which we have never been before. The restaurant itself located on the ground floor Harmoni Exchange, a small lifestyle center which was located on Central Jakarta. This place eventhough not nearly my city birthday, they showed our authentic puppet, Ondel-ondel and also a bajaj in front of their entry gate.
And not a long way after we entered this building, there was the café which we would have the dinner on the right side. I put an arrow in the picture below to show you the location.
Maybe you asked me why would we decided to have our dinner in a café? First we would like to feel cozy and not in a rush, and second I would like to taste this café coffee, cause they had coffee as their name, so I would like to try how good would be their coffee. As I had browsed before, they also had some main courses here so why don’t we combine the dinner with a cup of coffee? Sounds great, isn’t it?
THE OUTLOOK of THE CAFÉ
Located in front of their elevator, here was the café where we had our last night dinner
Look simple and clean from the outside, isn’t it?
THE DINING AREA
This café had a quite large dining area here. As you could see, they had bar area outside, where you could see how the barista prepare your coffee… They also had the large area inside, cozy and nice ambience, with the blush of turquoise color here. As you could see they had the wooden furnish here too.
For their interior, they chose rustic retro style interior here. And they showed some properties on their bricked white wall on one side.. Here they also had a meeting area which was separated to the dining area. Nice!
Plus here you could have an easy chit chat cause not many customers here, which was great for everyone, for your health and also for your privacy. For the interior, it is a YAY for us cause it was so comfortable…
THE MENU
For a café they had many kind of menus here, from coffee to tea, from the appetizer, snack, main course and they also had some desserts too. Isn’t it great?
For the food, as you could see here they had many Asian menus like fried noodle or fried rice, they also had Italian, and also some other Western menus, but they also sold the boiled peanuts, cassava which was traditional and authentic Indonesian.
And for the beverage, they served A to Z here, you could find sparkling water, mojito, tea, and of course coffee. Here you could find coffee from many many places of Indonesia, it even made me want to taste their coffee more. How do you think of it? This one is a place where you could find many kind of local coffee, nice place for coffee lovers.
Unfortunately when I ordered my main course, I craved for fish but they sold it out so then I decided to change my order.
THE COFFEE AND THE OUTLOOK plus FLAVOUR
Around 10 minutes after we had ordered the COFFEE came, guess what is it?
We tried their
ICE PANDAN LATTE!
It had the pandan smell cause they put the pandan syrup here, it contained the coffee we never tried (I bet this one was Gayo from Aceh) and it also contained milk. The sweetness was less and the coffee so tasty, but it was different with Arabica or any others, it had its’ own authenticity. Why don’t you give it a try then?
THE FOOD AND THE OUTLOOK plus FLAVOUR
After waiting for another 15 minutes our food were delivered
EGG BENEDICT
This menu originally came from France, it had the soft buns, it also had the beef bacons, poached egg and served with the home made hollandaise sauce plus some fresh vegetables (some kind of lettuce). The buns were not too hot (supposed to be hotter) but they were soft. The bacon was so tasty in savory. The eggs were perfect too. But we didn’t like the sour and a bit sweet Holland sauce they served it with, kind of mustard for us. I think it would be better with the cheesy dressing or another…
Anyway they served it with fresh lettuce. And also with that dressing, it was still delicious!
MIE DJAWA (JAVANESE NOODLE)
This menu was Indonesian authentic but they made it a bit soul. It was soup noodle with the lettuce and also sliced fried chicken as its’ topping. The noodle they cooked was in its’ perfect texture, chewy but soft. It was curly and it was egg noodle. It had savory flavour (I missed the authentic one which had sweet dominant flavour), but this one was also tasty. The ingredients they used were best. The lettuce was fresh and the chicken was soft in light savory flavour.
Both mom and I thought that both menus that we shared last night were delicious. So you should try them all!
THE PRICE
For two main courses and a coffee beverage we paid 155,925 IDR or around 11 USD and this price include the service charge and also tax.
We didn’t mind the price cause we had a great time there eating our dinner, and before going home, I took a photo of mom near their unique wall plus the scribble drawing on their wall, mentioning their café name.
