Mini Birthday Card 'Robot' - easy handmade how to
Hello, friends!
Today if i finished one of my needlework and i would like to share how to make this mini birthday card, you could make this for a boy who crazy about robot or maybe your child. So easy and cute, really fun to make.
Materials & things needed:
14ct cross stitch fabric (if you use the thick one like me, you won't need the embroidery hoop)
embroidery needle
embroidery floss (red, blue, yellow, light grey, grey)
scissors
optional for the back: origami in yellow, red and blue
pencil
ruler
cutter
How to make it:
First, with the back stitch of one strand blue floss, make the birthday word below your fabric. I made it from right cause i would like to make it on the right bottom my fabric. Then cross stitch the robot, started from grey outside like two boxes then add the top for the head, also a box but bigger than the two.
Fulfill it and left the boxes for eyes, rectangles for the mouth and also the body. Stitch the two hands and the body with light grey, then red for the feet and some in the box below the head plus a cross stitch upon the head.
Complete with the yellow for the ears and also for the box below the head. Stitch with black for the eyes. Last, for the border line use a strand of black floss. Also complete with happy word by using a strand of blue floss.
Complete the word then cut off the fabric and last blanket stitch the frame with two strands of red floss. Add the initial of the birthday person on the robot's body (optional).
You could also make the frame from origami like i did, made the plait. First make the lines with ruler, each 0.5 cm on the yellow, left some for the frame like i did. Cut the red and blue with 0.5 cm width then made the plait. Prepare it and fold to get the exact size for the plastic frame, then put it with the mini birthday card.
Voila, it would be nicer than before or you just tag the mini card to the birthday present.
Happy crafting!
