Overload Your Fire Power

Greeting Summoners
In my last Splinterlands post, I was talking about the fun of getting great card when the RNG was on your side. I was very upset reading people saying Splinterlands posts without in-depth strategic discussion was rubbish, I believed it was all wrong. Splinterlands should be about having fun and in extra, you earn something else... Crypto tokens... That was Web 3 Gaming was all about.
So today I would like to continue what I had posted there, but this time I would try to elaborate the "IN DEPTH" strategic talk lol. I would elaborate a real strategy here, so pay good attention here. It is about overloading your attack power lol.
How to do this is very simple, just bring in Big hitters and you will have them bullying your opponents lol
But honestly, this is not a rage bait topic. Sometime, when you put a massive hit from a unit, your opponents might not even think about it. They might expect you have some heavy hitters, but not on Mike Tyson level, or Saitama the one punch man character. If a unit hits too hard, it would make everything crumble.
So let's see what I am talking here in more specific way..

Recently we have Escalation edition and there are some super huge hitters on this edition. Forlorn Geomant is one of them, and I like this card a lot due to his 5 Magic damage. Can I spam him everytime? Well I can and I did that in the past and ended up having many loses lol.
However from those loses I have learnt some ways how to utilize this unit. In some situation, having a 5 magic damage unit is very helpful, and could be a decisive point where you will get your win solely due to it.

In the past, there weren't many 5 damage attackers. I could recall Barashkukor as one of them, and he was very famous due to his 5 magic damage attack. There were others, but let's not drifted too far from this topic.
As you could recall or you could simulate, Barashkukor was very dangerous not as a single unit. But his 5 magic damage could make a combo with other abilities from summoners or active modifiers, and that would make this unit danger.
With the same concept, we could say it will imply to Forlorn Geomant or other 5 damage attackers. So indirectly we can say, overloading your firepower breaching certain level, would bring you a massive benefit as a meta.
The Battle
I hope this selected battle could showcasse what I mean by overloading our firepower as a meta. This was a modern rank battle, at diamond league III. Both of us used level 2 Legendary Smmoners and for that reason I could say both of us were good players. We would not reach that tier if we played as a regular players.
So I think it is safe to say both of us had a valid meta for that battle. And I liked this kind of battle, because we could see each of us had our own solid approach here.

How many abilities did that Leolin Sifu have? lol, she was ridiculous and I had to count in their summoner, Elias Max Pruitt, because this combination was lethal. If I did not manage to put Leolin Sifu A.S.A.P, she could single handedly wiping out my team.
so let's get back to the line up again, and see the difference between us here.

- They had a very balanced line up, they had a tank, they had a secondary and tertiary tank, and a healer. They made sure they built up attack power, their Leolin Sifu could deliver 4 melee damage + 7 shield bash, that's 11 damage in a go.
- Can you see my meta there? It was very simple, I had 2 mage with 5 magic damage and those two were my core. The rest were not a minimum participants of 3 attack damage. They hit harder too.
In this battle, I was very confidence my team would dominate their opponent. It would not be a clean win, regarding we paid zero interest in defense, but we were sure we could wipe them all with super mega magic attacks lol.

The result was very obvious, we dominated the first round and the second round we sealed their fate. +5 magic damage combined with Execute ability was too much for them, especially if I had two units with that power.
So from this case I could say if we overloaded our offense, we could win just by shear strength. This battle was one of the proof of that simple approach. All target with less than 9 health point and no void ability, would trigger execute ability and make them get killed in one go by Barashkukor or Forlorn Geomant.
This was a very old approach and in the past we had an ability to prevent this high damage bullying to happen. The ability is called as FORCEFIELD, and here is the detailed explanation you can get from https://support.splinterlands.com/hc/en-us/articles/12913986812564-Forcefield

The problem is that this ability is no longer available in modern format and people start to ignore or forget about it. I have a hunch that many +5 damage attackers are introduced in Escalation edition because this ability might be re-popularize again in the upcoming set. Who knows? maybe I am wrong here, but still it proves overloading damage in your team could go right.
Anyway have fun in Splinterlands battles guys! see you next time..
