Maui in photos part I

Toward the end of last year my parents, wife and I went on a trip to Maui and it was really amazing. I've always been in love with the idea of Hawaii. I love tropical things, the water, the forests, the volcanoes, the Tiki bars, and especially the waves. I have been to the Big Island before one time, but Maui was completely new to me.

We stayed for just over a week, and the weather was amazing. We were very close to the beach which made for some amazing sunsets, and we rented a car which gave us the opportunity to explore the island a bit. The photos really speak for themselves so I'll just start posting those now 😅.

My wife and I walked down to the beach in the evenings to take in the sunset, and it was like this almost every day. Just super beautiful and incredible. Every photo you take is different. The beauty of this place is just incredible.

The water is so beautiful and clean here, and the air is just incredibly fresh. We were staying on the calmer side of the island but there were a couple of windy days. The only unfortunate thing was that there weren't many waves while we were there, because we were on the calm side of the island. It did make for better weather though, so that was really nice. I did also get in a couple of decent surf days.

We drove out to a (relatively) nearby lava field with my mom so that she could see it, and we stopped a few beautiful spots along the way. Every where you look in Maui the views are incredible.

On our way back home we stopped by a beach where we heard the sea turtles come out to lay on the rocks. My wife really really wanted to see the turtles. She couldn't find them but then asked a group of locals who pointed her towards a somewhat hidden little beach and sure enough there were a bunch of adorable sea turtles just chillin to the max. I didn't even bother going to look because every day I went surfing I saw at least one. One day I was sitting on my board out in the water and a huge sea turtle just came up and started swimming around me, it was amazing.
