Looking at the picture, I feel the boy is completely immersed in the sound of his instrument.

You can see it all in his eyes and how he positioned his body, it shows that he is deeply feeling the music. It just appeared as if the rest of the world has disappeared and the only thing that matters at the moment is the beautiful sound he is creating.

It is might also be that he is practicing for a performance in the future or just enjoying the pleasure that comes in playing music.
