Ladies of Hive/ 118... The Future Me

I think one thing is for certain, we cannot predict the future but at least we can look ahead from the past and envision how we want it to be which brings me to the question...

Where do I see myself in the next five years?

I'm at that point in my life where I need to think ahead. I'm in my finals and I keep thinking, What do I do with myself after school?, especially with the fact that people like to make jokes about my course of study and how there is no job for "us".
Before, maybe I would have believed them but not anymore.

When I was little, anytime I was asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?". I would always answer,"I want to be a Medical Doctor". Why?, because that's what everyone else wanted to be. I could not get into Medicine and Surgery so I gave up besides I told myself I only wanted to do it because everyone else wanted to but then recently after spending some weeks in the hospital I realized that Medicine is something I actually want to do. So I plan to work towards that.

To be a Practicing Doctor
It feels so far fetched but in the next five years if I'm not already a Doctor, I would be on my way to becoming one, then I would stand proudly by parents and tell them, " Yes, we made it".

There's this sense of accomplishment that I feel when I do something for myself by myself, from buying a piece of jewelry to taking myself out. I'm big on self love because if we don't love ourselves first, how do we expect someone else to?.

I want to wake up in the next five years knowing I am my own boss, my own person. I have something that I accomplished not all by myself because the truth we can't do anything completely alone but knowing I'm solely behind it.
In plain terms, I want to be rich to a point where as Ariana Grande said," I want it, I got it".
There was a day my Dad was doing something in the house, I looked at him, turned to my mother and said, "I am going to make it to give so much back to that". She laughed and said what about me and I was like, " yes you too". I am going to make good on that promise.

At this point, marriage seems too far gone from where I'm sitting and typing this now. I'm twenty one years old and I've never been in a relationship.
I know it's not the best mentality I have but I just feel like I can't handle it so why even give it a try.
In the years to come if I am not married I at least want to be in a relationship because the idea of being alone really is not appealing.
And if I am married, then I want children.A whole lot of them.
I wish that having a child now was an option without the stigmatization that comes with it or what I would have to deal with from my parents.
I love children. Whenever I see a cute baby I'm like," Gimme Gimme I want one". If this was a ten year look ahead, I will definitely have written I see myself already having three out of the six children I plan to have.

In a nutshell, in the next five years I want to be an accomplished young Doctor, maybe married but if not definitely dating, who owns a brand and is not afraid stand on her own. I forgot one important thing. There are people in my life who have being solid, I hope in the future I don't look back and have regrets because we don't talk anymore.

I know I still have a really long road ahead. One that's not going to be easy but with every step I've been taking. It's a step forward to accomplishing my goals.
