Time
If time is an illusion,
and lunchtime doubly so,
then why is it time that we wait on
to heal the wounds of the soul.
Surely an imperfect solution
just hurry up and wait
"time heals all wounds"
to me it just sounds fake.
If time must pass to find our peace
and release the pain of the past,
then how is it that some of us
just move right on so fast?
A precious heart still beating
lies broken on the floor
callously discarded
inside the STILL open door.
Trust was lost so long ago
each time it wasn't regained
so quick to run and slow to love
the inevitability of blame.
And yet not one but two hearts now
suffer for those betrayals
you could not know or ever see
the tears that fall in trails
If time is an illusion,
and lunchtime doubly so,
then why when the chips are down,
does it seem to move so slow.
