Black & white photography – Dancers of the Khmer empire (Cambodia)

Angkor was once the capital in the Khmer empire. Today the ruins of the many temples built during the hight of this empire, is a huge tourist attractions. There are so many temples that you will several days just to see a few of them. The city of Angkor flourished sometime between the 9th century and the 15th.

Many of these temples have ornaments and carvings that are interesting to take a closer look at.

Many of these temples have ornaments and carvings that are interesting to take a closer look at. The photos above shows some of the dancers you will find on most temples. Some are still very much in tact and still looking good. Others have not managed the time as well. Sometimes they are placed in groups. Sometimes alone. The all very in size as well. This very small collection with photos of divine dancers are from different temples.
