Current economic situation between the border countries.
The economic situation in the Colombian-Venezuelan border zone is historically very dynamic due to the commercialization of goods and services, as well as basic foodstuffs. This action has favored both countries for decades, but currently more so in Venezuela due to the economic crisis and the embargo imposed by the United States..
Currently, an economic phenomenon is taking place in Colombia that affects even more its border country, since the rise in the value of the dollar in relation to the peso increased alarmingly, all this since the weeks close to the elections in the coffee country, and now more than ever have intensified, all this orchestrated by big businessmen and the opposition to the president who won.
This business and political action seeks to show the strength they have so that the winner of the Colombian presidency understands that he must negotiate with them, otherwise they will hinder their economy and even seek a social outburst to regain the power they have had for many years.
On the other hand, the border economy has been affected by the increase in the value of products, bringing as a consequence a new decrease in purchasing power and therefore nutritional problems for the population.
In addition, the American currency (the dollar) is available for many people to exchange in the neighboring country for a higher value that was not found before the elections, that is to say, before 1 dollar = 3.500 pesos, now with the economic war that has been imposed 1 dollar = 4.100 pesos.
Undoubtedly this economic behavior induced by these economic groups of big businessmen and politicians, are doing serious damage to the economy of both countries and more the border, as they manage to distort it, being the people and consumers what is most harmed, without being for these entrepreneurs their priority, on the contrary the important thing for them is to have the economic power above anything, leaving the masses aside.
To conclude, this induced economic distortion has only benefited those who created it, because with their great capital they make the exchanges to capitalize even more their great fortunes to multiply them, being the consumers who generate the profits for them.
