A City Defined by Light and Shadow - Monomad Challenge.
In my opinion, street photography is the purest and most raw way to capture everyday life, urban landscapes, and the moments that unfold on the streets of a city or town. There are no distracting colors or visually jarring elements caused by overly garish tones. It is life itself, told through light, shadows, and emotions. The wide avenues and iconic buildings, combined with the people, are the protagonists of this reality; there is little else to look for but the art drawn through light in urban life in the city of Buenos Aires.

For me, the difference between color photography and black and white photography is simple: you stop showing the natural reality of the landscape and instead convey a sense of atmosphere, depth, tension, and even nostalgia. There are always more distinctive moments to capture these elements in black and white street photography… the light, the shadows, the setting, decisive moments.
Choose your setting carefully, capture moments, and do it during sunset or sunrise.

Another reason or difference is that in color photography, aspects like textures, contrast, lines, and curves can go unnoticed, whereas in black and white photography, these elements really stand out and are much more visually striking or at least that’s how I feel when I look at them.

This is another chance to mention that every single photo I’m sharing with you today was taken with a phone, not a professional camera with an expensive lens.
What I’m trying to say is that photography is about moments, patience, light, and shadows add to that a lot of imagination and a desire to capture something interesting, whether it’s an action, a decisive moment, geometric patterns, emotions, or whatever you want just go for it.

Someone who is passionate about all of this always has a keen eye out for any fleeting moment they can capture. This post is a compilation of those moments from different neighborhoods and areas of the city. The light draws you in, captivates you, and makes you want to capture the moment forever.

What do you think of this set of street photos on this theme? What are your thoughts on what I’ve said? What does black and white street photography mean to you?
If you liked any of this, leave me a comment about it :)

That's all folks. Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.
