Artistic Nude Workshop, Portraits in Movement with Silk [ENG/ESP]

Last weekend I was in a moving portrait workshop, the main or general theme was about nudes with silk, while the model was doing acrobatics in the first place, photos that I shared in my previous post in black and white. We were working with the model Manuela González for 3 hours. Today I share with you a second set of pictures as a result of that workshop.

This time we had finished with the acrobatics and we moved on to silk posing in movement. Although I particularly consider that this type of photographs are more captivating in black and white, today I decide to share some in colour, with the aim of having another appreciation and another point of view, also taking advantage of the colours of illumination that we had available.

Soft movements, with silk as a support material, nudes and semi-nudes and adding a little depth in the facial expressions.

El pasado fin de semana estuve en un Workshop de retratos en movimiento, la temática principal o general se trataba de desnudos con seda, mientras la modelo hacia acrobacias en primer lugar, fotos que compartí en mi post anterior en blanco y negro. Estuvimos trabajando con la modelo Manuela González durante 3 horas. Hoy les comparto un segundo set de fotografías como resultado de ese Workshop.

En esta oportunidad habíamos terminado con las acrobacias y pasamos al posado en movimiento con seda. Aunque particularmente considero que este tipo de fotografías son más cautivadoras en blanco y negro hoy decido compartir algunas a color, con el objetivo de poder tener otra apreciación y otro punto de vista, aprovechando también los colores de iluminación de los cuales disponíamos.

Movimientos suaves, con la seda como material de apoyo, desnudos y semi desnudos y añadiendo un poco de profundidad en las expresiones faciales.

I really like the first two photos because of the way her arms move, the serenity or maybe a bit of drama? You tell me... The red tones covering her hair and the blue and violet tones covering part of her body. I think she is quite interesting in this sense.

We were in a not very big space and we had a studio flash with continuous light at the back while at the front side we had an Octagonal Softbox with handheld flash. I don't know but for some shots it occurred to me to portray the model in such a way that the flash with continuous light was in the frame of certain photos. A sort of behind the scenes, so that this accessory would be noticed in the composition, taking advantage of the fact that every few minutes a small machine was blowing smoke.

I don't really know if it looks good or if it was a bad decision, but these were the results. What do you think?

Me gustan mucho las dos primeras fotos por la forma del movimiento de sus brazos, la serenidad o tal vez un poco de drama? Ustedes me dirán... Los tonos rojos que cubren su cabello y los tonos azulados y violetas que cubren parte de su cuerpo. Creo que está bastante interesante en este sentido.

Estábamos en un espacio no muy grande y disponíamos de un flash de estudio con luz continua en la parte trasera mientras que en el frente de lado lateral teníamos un Softbox Octagonal con flash de mano. No lo sé pero para algunas tomas se me ocurrió en retratar a la modelo de manera que aquel flash con luz continua estuviese en el encuadre de ciertas fotos. Una especie de detrás de camaras, que se note este accesorio en la composición, aprovechando también que cada ciertos minutos una pequeña máquina expulsaba humo.

No sé realmente si se ve bien o fué una mala decisión, pero estos fueron los resultados ¿Que opinan?

I tried to take some pictures at this moment using the flash, obviously at ISO 100 and I think at f11, I also tried to take some pictures without flash, so I had to raise the ISO levels and in some pictures you can see grains, noise, even though I reduced it in postproduction, it was not enough maybe. However, I don't mind this too much in the pictures, even in some shots it suits him very well.

Finally, after telling my experience and some technical aspects about the photos and the place, I would like you to give me your opinion about this workshop, about the theme and obviously about this work.

I couldn't finish without mentioning you dear friend @erikah What do you think about colour this time? I think there's no doubt that we prefer black and white but a different version for a change is not a bad idea 😊

Intenté hacer algunas fotos en este momento usando el flash, obviamente a ISO 100 y creo que a f11, también probé hacer otras sin flash, por lo cual tuve que subir los niveles de ISO y en el algunas fotos de puede observar granos, ruido, a pesar de haberlo reducido en la postproducción, no fue suficiente tal vez. De igual manera no me molesta mucho esto en las fotografías, incluso en ciertas tomas le sienta muy bien.

Finalmente luego de contar mi experiencia y algunos aspectos técnicos en cuanto a las fotos y el lugar me gustaría que me dieran su opinión sobre este Workshop, sobre la temática y obviamente sobre este trabajo.

No podría finalizar sin antes mencionarte querida amiga @erikah ¿Que te parece a color ésta vez? Creo que no hay duda en que preferimos el blanco y negro pero una versión distinta para variar no es mala idea 😊
