Geese in Palermo Lakes | Nature Photography [ENG/ESP]
I have returned to visit the forests of Palermo as I mentioned in my previous post where I made some portraits. The whole region of the Tres de Febrero park is called forests and it is impossible to visit these natural spaces without taking pictures of the geese that inhabit these areas. Having the opportunity to take pictures different from what I usually do, I honestly had to take advantage of it.
Fortunately I had a lens at hand that allowed me to get closer to them and be able to photograph them more closely to better appreciate the details of their fur, beaks and eyes, plus it was already getting dark, which generated a very interesting bokeh.
He vuelto a visitar los bosques de Palermo como ya lo comenté en mi post anterior dónde hice algunos retratos. Se le denomina bosques a toda la región del parque tres de febrero que cuenta con varios lagos y es imposible visitar estos espacios naturales sin retratar a los gansos que habitan éstas zonas. Teniendo la oportunidad de hacer fotos diferentes a lo que usualmente vengo haciendo, honestamente debo aprovecharlo.
Afortunadamente tenía a la mano un lente que me permitía acercarme más a ellos y poder retratarlos más de cerca para apreciar mejor los detalles de su pelaje, picos y ojos, además ya estaba atardeciendo, lo que generó un bokeh bastante interesante.
This is a general and wider view of the lake where I was and where I was taking pictures of these animals, people in rented boats can be seen walking the length and width of the lake. Those white bridges or structures in the background are park decorations, icons of photo shoots for quinceañeras, weddings and the like.
I was reading a bit about these birds and according to the information I got many of them have been evicted from the place to take them to other spaces such as farms and parks outside the capital because there were so many that they did not allow other species to be sharing the same space. These birds weigh between 6 and 10 kilos and roam freely in the lakes and forest parks.
Ésta es una vista general y más amplia del lago donde yo me encontraba y dónde estaba tomando fotos a estos animales, se observan personas en botes rentados paseando a lo largo y ancho del lago. Esos puentes o estructuras blancas que se ven al fondo son decoraciones del parque, íconos de sesiones fotográficas para 15 años, bodas y otros similares.
Estaba leyendo un poco sobre éstas aves y según la información que obtuve muchísimos de éstos han sido desalojados del lugar para llevarlos a otros espacios como granjas y parques fuera de la capital ya que eran tantos que no permitían que otras especies estuviesen compartiendo el mismo espacio. Estas aves pesan entre 6 y 10 kilos y andan libremente por los lagos y parques de los bosques.
Other articles mention that at some point they became aggressive with other animals and with the same park visitors, although the last few times I have been there it has not been like that, many children come to feed them with bread crumbs and in turn it is an attraction for them. Luckily I had no problem taking their pictures and it was a very pleasant experience.
I am truly happy with the photos and the results I got, the following photo especially is epic for me 😅 it looked like these geese were modeling in a choreographed way haha I was lucky to capture that moment.
Otros artículos mencionan que en algún momento llegaron a ser agresivos con otros animales y con los mismos visitantes del parque, aunque las últimas veces que he ido no ha sido así, muchos niños se acercan a alimentarlos con migajas de pan y a su vez es un atractivo para ellos. Por suerte no tuve problema al retratarlos y fue muy agradable la experiencia.
Estoy verdaderamente contento con las fotos y los resultados que obtuve, la siguiente foto en especial es épica para mí 😅 pareciera que estos gansos estuviesen modelando en forma de coreografía jaja tuve suerte de capturar ese momento.
I consider that it is a park to which I could dedicate many hours to capture the details of everything that is here, animals, flowers, vegetation, landscapes and much more but unfortunately I always have little time in each of my infrequent visits.
However, I still have plenty of days to come back and bring you more detailed content of this place, structures with important and relevant architecture, flower gardens and an endless number of nature related themes. I hope I won't be too busy to fulfill other tours here.

Considero que es un parque al que se le dejé dedicar muchísimas horas para poder capturar los detalles de todo lo que hay acá, animales, flores, vegetación, paisajes y mucho más pero lamentablemente siempre dispongo de poco tiempo en cada una de mis poco frecuentes visitas.
Sin embargo, aún tengo muchísimos días para volver y traerles más contenido detallado de este lugar, estructuras con importante y relevante arquitectura, jardines de flores y un sin fin de temáticas relacionadas a la naturaleza. Espero no estar tan ocupado para cumplir con otros paseos acá.
