Monomad : 15 Monochrome Photographs of Subway Stations [ENG/ESP]
Well, I love them! Besides working with trains in this same company, from the beginning it caught my attention to take pictures of these cars and their stations because of the symmetry in them, the aesthetics and the particular angles that can be captured.
In this post I show you some of the subway stations in Buenos Aires as well as some shots I took of my neighborhood called Balvanera.
¿Te gustan los trenes y sus estaciones?
Bueno, a mí me encantan! Además de trabajar con trenes en esta misma empresa desde un principio captó mi atención hacer fotografías de estos coches y sus estaciones por la simetría que hay en ellas, lo estético y los ángulos particulares que se pueden capturar.
En este post les muestro algunas de las estaciones del subterráneo de Buenos Aires así como también algunas tomas que hice de mi barrio llamado Balvanera.
These are Monochrome photographic series of a usual day inside the stations, I went through several of them and in each one I took some angles and moments, both of the stations in general and the interior of the train, some perspectives with low view focusing on the ground. These photographs are distributed among stations H, D, and E.
I like the way these images are expressed because they look like they were taken in earlier times, plus I was interested in injecting a lot of shadows and contrasts. Some of them can express a feeling or action to the viewer.
Éstas son series fotográficas en Monocromo de un día habitual dentro de las estaciones, recorrí varias de ellas y en cada una tomé algunos ángulos y momentos, tanto de las estaciones en general como el interior del tren, algunas perspectivas con baja vista enfocando al suelo. Estas fotografías se encuentran distribuidas entre las estaciones H, D, y E.
Me gusta la forma en como están expresadas estas imágenes porque pareciera que fuesen tomadas en tiempos anteriores, además de que me interesé por inyectarle muchas sombras y contrastes. Algunas de ellas pueden expresar siento sentimiento o acción al espectador.
For the present images we can mention that they were taken in the stations of the E line, Emilio Mitre which is the station that is near my place of work and what is shown there are the turnstiles for payment for the subsequent access to the platforms.
We also have the H line station, Humberto I where we captured the train in motion as shown in the cover photo. In addition to this you can also see the stairs that connect the central hall to the entrance of the platforms.
In one of the images I was able to take a shot with a low view over the ground that I found quite interesting.
Para las presentes imágenes podemos mencionar que fueron tomadas en las estaciones de la línea E, Emilio Mitre la cual es la estación que se encuentra cerca de mi lugar de trabajo y lo que muestra allí son los molinetes de pago para el posterior acceso a los andenes.
Además tenemos la estación de la línea H, Humberto I en dónde capturamos al tren en movimiento como lo muestra de hecho la foto de portada. Adicional a esto se pueden observar también las escaleras que conectan el Hall central a la entrada de los andenes.
En una de las imágenes pude hacer una toma con baja vista sobre el suelo que me pareció bastante interesante.
This time we have one of the head stations of the C line called Constitución station, it is one of the busiest stations for having the access or the combination with the long distance train. The photographs show the central hall from a close-up view of the ground.
On the other hand we also have two other stations, avenida de mayo also belonging to the C line with a photo of a moving train and a photograph of the Lacroze station of the B line.
En esta ocasión tenemos una de las estaciones cabeceras de la línea C llamada estación Constitución, es una de las estaciones más concurridas por tener el.acceso o la combinación con el tren de larga distancia. Las fotografías muestran al hall central desde un alguno que tiene como primer plano el enfoque al suelo.
Por otra parte tenemos también dos otras estaciones, avenida de mayo perteneciente también a la línea C con una foto de tren en movimiento y una fotografía de la estación Lacroze de la línea B.
Finally I leave two photographs of the medical school station, this case with the style of reflections in a sweltering day with more than 49 degrees of temperature, I took the opportunity to have in my favor this view with a loss of water that was on the sidewalk.
Both photographs belong to the D line station, which is located in the neighborhood of Balvanera.

Para finalizar les dejo dos fotografías de la estación facultad de medicina, este caso con el estilo de reflejos en un día agobiante con más de 49 grados de temperatura, aproveche la oportunidad para tener a mi favor esta vista con una perdida de agua que había en la vereda.
Ambas fotografías pertenecen a las estación de la línea D,.la cual se encuentra ubicada en el barrio de Balvanera.
