Puddles as Reflections in Street Photography (III) - Monomad Challenge

Today I have reached the third part of this series of photos that deals specifically with reflections in street photography, I have left these shots for last because I really consider them my favorites and obviously they had to be in black and white. It's the turn to look at the great Colón theater from other angles and perspectives.

One of the buildings that offers us the most options when it comes to taking this type of photographs, talking about reflections due to its location. Thanks to the storms, many water wells were formed that gave me symmetry, drama and a more interesting vision.

This is one of the side parts of the building.

Here we have another photo but this time from the main entrance on Libertad Street. I tried to find a good position that would give me the opportunity to incorporate all the dimensions of this part of the building and at the same time look for some reflection from a low angle. Although this is a small reflection, you can also see the squares of the floor tiles.

I'm almost sure this is my favorite although it's hard to decide actually. Also from the side I wanted the entire image to be the building with all its details, its many doors and windows. You can also see balconies, columns and relief in specific parts but what in my opinion makes it more interesting are those two people accompanying the composition.

It was at the right time, they just arrived and decided to take some photos with the building in the background while I was looking for interesting shots, thanks for that guys 😅

This is not exactly the Colón theater, it is other buildings that were around and although one of the buildings was very tall and did not completely fit into the composition, It gave me an interesting result, from the area where this puddle was.

Another photo that I consider interesting is this one, taken from 9 de Julio Avenue near this entrance to the theater building.

Massue Viewpoint.

Here I break with reflection photography and share some other additional shots of the area.

In this area of Plaza Lavalle there are 4 corners with 4 icons of architecture and national monuments. The courts building, the Presidente Roca school, the Colón theater and the Massue viewpoint which is currently called Torre Tribunales Plaza. Beautiful Art Nouveau building built at the beginning of the last century.

Of this building originally only this tower remains, since what accompanies it are modern glazed constructions that are behind and that make up a set of offices for rent for companies. The original building was largely demolished.

This is the side part of the building and you can see how there is this contrast between modern and classic architecture.

I hope that one day I will have the time available to access the interior of all these emblematic and historical buildings of the city of Buenos Aires, such as this viewpoint, for example, to this tower.

I am very pleased to share these photos with you and in this way finish with this series of photographs.

I would like to know which of all these photos is your favorite and why 😎

Reflections are very attractive for street photography, even more so when they include architecture. I'm glad you liked it, thank you very much for your time :)
