Street Photography in the Capital, BA 🇦🇷 | Monomad Challenge [ENG/ESP]

Greetings friends 👋🏻 Today I want to share with you a series of street photographs I took in different moments and neighborhoods of the city of Buenos Aires, starting with the area of Belgrano and Cabildo Avenue, during one of the sunsets, capturing the people walking along the metrobus.

A photo that I find very interesting because of the way it is composed, focusing on the public transport and putting in the background the people coming from the front.

Saludos amigos 👋🏻 Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una serie de fotografías callejeras que hice en diferentes momentos y barrios de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, empezando por la zona de Belgrano y la avenida Cabildo, durante uno de los atardeceres, capturando las personas que caminaban por el metrobus.

Una foto que me parece muy interesante por como está compuesta, enfocando al transporte público y poniendo de segundo plano a las personas que venían de frente.

As I was walking through another neighborhood, I think it was in Monserrat, I passed by a building full of glass and decided.... Why not? To take a self-portrait, something I almost never do but for a change it was not bad 😅

Here below we go to the San Martin square in the retiro neighborhood, where I wanted to try the 50mm lens to portray objects, in this case one of the seats in the square, wanting to find other compositions and angles that can be attractive even taking pictures of common objects.

A medida que iba caminando por otro barrio, creo que era en Monserrat, pasé por un edificio lleno de vidrios y decidí... ¿Por qué no? Hacer un autoretrato, cosa que casi nunca suelo hacer pero para variar no estuvo demás 😅

Acá debajo nos vamos a la plaza San Martín en el barrio de retiro, dónde quise probar el lente 50mm para retratar objetos, en este caso uno de los asientos de la plaza, queriendo encontrar otras composiciones y ángulos que puedan ser atractivos incluso tomando fotos a objetos comunes.

The following photo was taken in the neighborhood of Caballito, near my workplace. You can see some residential buildings and trees on a cloudy day. I decided to add a little more contrast by accentuating the blacks and shadows for this shot.

La siguiente foto fué tomada en el barrio de Caballito, cerca de mi lugar de trabajo. Se pueden observar algunos edificios residenciales y árboles en un día nublado. Decidí agregarle un poco más de contraste acentuando los negros y las sombras para esta toma.

Another photographic exercise I've been doing depending on the day and time availability, are photos of people in motion. Which leads me to set the camera settings to the highest ISO levels so I can increase the shutter speed to over 500, even 1000.

This way I can freeze the movement of people walking, jogging or running through the city streets.

Otro de los ejercicios fotográficos que vengo haciendo dependiendo del día y la disponibilidad horaria, son fotos a personas en movimiento. Lo cual me lleva a configurar los ajustes de la cámara con los niveles de ISO más altos para poder aumentar la velocidad de obturador a más de 500, incluso a 1000.

De esta forma puedo congelar el movimiento de las personas que vienen caminando, trotando o corriendo por las calles de la ciudad.

These last two photos are a sample of that, they were taken from one of the highest parts of the San Martin square in the Retiro neighborhood, near the Kavanagh building. People jogging or exercising around this square.

Éstas dos últimas fotos son una muestra de ello, fueron tomadas desde una de las partes más altas de la plaza San Martín en el barrio de Retiro, en las cercanías del edificio Kavanagh. Personas trotando o haciendo ejercicios alrededor de esta plaza.
