Hello friends and faithful admirers of architecture, first of all I would like to apologize for my absence in the community, lately I have not done many tours or visited places that are really worthwhile (at least for me) however now I have a little more time and I want to share with you new content, new works, new structures that I have been knowing within the same city of Buenos Aires.

In this opportunity I want to introduce you to a beautiful triangular shaped building located in the neighborhood of Almagro (CABA).

THE RAGGIO PALACE 😍

I consider myself a fan of this type of old buildings, because it injects a lot of class to the structures complying with the rules of each style, in this case academic style.

As a separate point, I want to mention that I am aware of the modifications regarding the rules of the community, mentioning the respective sources from where the relevant information is extracted and the data provided from the building / structure.

So fulfilling this, process to develop and let's start to know what this architectural work is about 😃

Picsart_22-09-08_09-21-39-917.png

This is a rental building, built almost 100 years ago, for the year 1924, José Raggio who was a merchant carries out the construction of this work of the hand of the architect Gino Aloisi, with the purpose of being the highest building for rentals or rentals of housing according to the rules of the municipality at that time.

A 7-story building and a 70-meter high tower captivate this part of the city between two very busy and high traffic avenues such as Rivadavia Avenue and Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue.

One of the buildings that I did not know among the many that exist in the city and that would be great to visit inside, something quite complicated because it is not for commercial use but for rentals.

The palace has a reinforced concrete structural system, without a doubt its shape stands out among other buildings in the area.

This type of constructions are very enriching for the city and it seems to me that they should be preserved over time. One of the things that caught my attention were the circular balconies that are on the second, third and seventh floor, it gives an impressive aesthetic and appearance.

On this seventh floor is the terrace of the building and there you can access the dome through a spiral staircase. The view from that dome I imagine must be magnificent 😍

Picsart_22-09-08_09-21-39-917.png

I tried as much as possible to take several photographs of the facade, its surroundings and all the details of the building that were within reach of my lens. In a somewhat awkward building for the angles, I walked it several times to get the photos as well framed as possible.

Like most of the buildings and emblematic works of the city, access to the interior is restricted, only with guided tours when the city government decides to do so, it is possible to visit the inside of the facilities. It would be quite a rewarding experience to be able to enter sometime.

I hope to be able to bring you more content of much important architecture in and around the city of Buenos Aires. I also hope you liked both the information and the pictures 🙂 I send you all a big hug and have a great weekend, friends 👋🏻💛

Picsart_22-09-08_09-21-39-917.png

Hi @dimascastillo90, excellent pictures, the building is a great architectural work, the balconies give it a regal look added to the sculptures that look like a lion, the second picture is spectacular; thanks for sharing your visit to this emblematic sector of Buenos Aires.

Blessings!

Thank you so much @dimascastillo90 😊 all well, we are a week back now from the holidays in the US. Still going through my photos I took 📸 bought a new camera… as you know, didn’t have one after my DSLR died in 2019 on my last trip to Cuba.
So have to play with it a bit more 😁😎 it’s such an upgrade after all my old one was already 10 years old.
Hope you will have a wonderful weekend too and are well.

Oh wow! What a classy-looking building @dimascastillo90! The word "emblematic" is definitely the perfect description for that iconic monument. And because it's strategically located at the angled intersection of 2 streets, it's quite an unusual floor plan for an epic landmark such as the Raggio Palace. 😊👍

Nevertheless, it's still a stunning work of architecture! Welcome back Mr. Man of the Kilometers! 🤣
