Unexpected Shots in Downtown, Buenos Aires - Street Photography [ENG/ESP]

A few days ago I had to go to the microcenter area of the city to do some banking paperwork, directly after leaving my work I took the subway and got off at the Catedral station of the D line, they gave me an appointment and I had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes to be attended. I remembered I had my camera in my backpack and I was standing on a pretty interesting street, so I thought about the free time and that I could take some pictures.

I really didn't want to wander too far away nor did I want to miss my assigned shift so I made the decision to capture a few moments in this short period of time.

Hace algunos días tuve que ir a la zona del microcentro de la ciudad a hacer un trámite bancario, directamente al salir de mi trabajo tomé el subte y me bajé en la estación Catedral de la línea D, me dieron un turno y tuve que esperar unos 10 o 15 minutos para ser atendido. Recordé que tenía mi cámara en la mochila y estaba parado en una calle bastante interesante, así que pensé en el tiempo libre y que podía tomar algunas fotos.

Realmente no quería alejarme mucho ni tampoco perder el turno que me asignaron así que tomé la decisión de capturar algunos momentos en este corto periodo de tiempo.

Most of the streets here are estimated to be about 100 meters long, what I did was to walk that way a couple of times taking advantage of the fact that it had many attractions, buildings and the aesthetics of this narrow cobblestone street that could give me good results. I was next to a bar-restaurant called Growlers, I took a picture of the sign of the place.

La mayoría de las calles acá se calcula que tienen aproximadamente 100 metros, lo que hice fué caminar ese trayecto un par de veces aprovechando que tenía muchos atractivos, edificios y la estética de esta calle estrecha y empedrada que podía darme buenos resultados. Estaba al lado de un bar restaurante que se llama Growlers, tomé una foto del cartel del local.

I took the time to let everything flow and not take pictures at any time, as it is in a business area, where there are many offices, employees and other people walked from one side to another going in and out of the large buildings that are headquarters of some banks such as BBVA Francés bank, which is located in this classic and beautiful building with a wonderful architectural design which highlights its large dome.

Me tomé el tiempo para dejar que todo fluya y no tomar fotos en cualquier momento, cómo está en una zona empresarial, dónde hay muchísimas oficinas, los empleados y otras personas caminaban de un lado a otro saliendo y entrando a los grandes edificios que son sedes centrales de algunos bancos como por ejemplo en banco BBVA Francés, que se encuentra en este clásico y hermoso edificio con un maravilloso diseño de arquitectura donde destaca su gran cúpula.

You can see the entrance to this building and other details stand out as people walk next to it.

Se puede apreciar la entrada a este edificio y además se destacan otros detalles mientras las personas caminan a lado de éste.

Not only was I able to capture this building, but there were others in this single block, a building that I do not know and that I portrayed only the upper parts such as its towers. I had the 55-200mm lens on my camera and the truth is that I had no intention of exchanging lenses, I had very little time and I had to do it with what I had on hand.

The following photo shows the tower of the Cabildo building in Buenos Aires.

No solamente pude llegar a capturar este edificio sino que había otros más en esta sola cuadra, edificio que desconozco y que retraté solo las partes superiores como sus torres. Tenía el lente 55-200mm en mi cámara y la verdad no tenía intenciones de intercambiar lentes, tenía muy poco tiempo y debía hacerlo con lo que tenía a la mano.

En la siguiente foto se muestra la torre del edificio del Cabildo de Buenos Aires.

Here you can see the building that houses the BBVA FRANCÉS bank and on the left side part of an important church in the area. At the end of this street is the neighborhood of Puerto Madero.

Acá se puede apreciar el edificio que alberga el banco BBVA FRANCÉS y de lado izquierdo parte de una iglesia importante de la zona. Al final de esta calle se encuentra el barrio de Puerto Madero.

Let's appreciate this building from three planes to finish, we have three photos in which the planes are increasingly larger but always focused on the dome, central and upper part of the building until the last photo with the longest focal length of the lens I had at the time (200mm) so you can better appreciate the details of this dome.

It's here where you can better observe the time that the structure can have and the deterioration through the years and decades, rust to some of its parts and the relief of the dome with some holes, if I am not mistaken this construction must be almost 100 years old. The maintenance is the responsibility of the national state since this type of structures are generally historical monuments of the country.

Vamos a apreciar este edificio desde tres planos para finalizar, tenemos tres fotos en las cuales los planos son cada vez más grandes pero enfocado siempre en la cúpula, parte central y superior del edificio hasta llegar a la última foto con la mayor distancia focal del lente que tenía en el momento (200mm) de manera que se pueden apreciar mejor los detalles de esta cúpula.

Es aquí donde se puede observar mejor el tiempo que puede tener la estructura y el deterioro a través de los años y décadas, óxidos al algunas de sus partes y el relieve de la cúpula con algunos agujeros, si no me equivoco debe tener casi 100 años ésta construcción. El mantenimiento es responsabilidad del estado nacional ya que este tipo de estructuras generalmente son monumentos históricos del país.
