Wednesday Walk on the Southern Waterfront [ENG/ESP]
Hello to all friends and greetings to the entire #WednesdayWalk community! This time I want to share with you a walk I did along the southern waterfront of the city located in the neighborhood of Puerto Madero where there is also the great ecological reserve of the city with lots of vegetation and different paths to walk.
Away from the central area of the city we could say that it is the second lung of this capital apart from the forests of Palermo. The place is visited mostly on weekends and you can find informal gastronomic stalls, people usually skate, ride bikes, roller skates and just now in winter sunbathing.
In my case the day I visited the ecological reserve was not open so we will talk about it in another post.
Hola a todos amigos y saludos a toda la comunidad de #WednesdayWalk! En esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes una caminata que hice por la costanera sur de la ciudad ubicada en el barrio de puerto madero en dónde además se encuentra la gran reserva ecológica de la ciudad con mucha vegetación y distintos caminos por recorrer.
Alejado del casco central de la ciudad podríamos decir que es el segundo pulmón de esta capital aparte de los bosques de Palermo. El lugar es visitado mayormente los fines de semana y se pueden encontrar puestos de gastronomía informal, las personas suelen patinar, andar en bicicleta, patines y simplemente ahora en invierno tomar un poco de sol.
En mi caso el día que hice la visita no estaba abierto la reserva ecológica por lo que hablaremos de ella en otro post.
It is a nice landscape to admire and take some pictures, have a picnic and enjoy the beautiful view, however it is not allowed to swim in these waters. The southern waterfront was very famous in the 1900s mostly at the beginning for the attractions that surround it where we can include the already mentioned in my previous post the Munich brewery.
There is a curious fact about this waterfront regarding the waters that are there and is that at the beginning of the last century, more specifically in the 1920s it was allowed to bathe but it was not so easy...
Women and men had to do it separately and in addition to this they were not allowed to do it after 7 pm because this could cause them to fall into night temptations. How about that? 🤣
Es un lindo paisaje para admirar y tomar algunas fotografías, hacer picnic y disfrutar de la hermosa vista sin embargo no está permitido bañarse en éstas aguas. La costanera sur fue muy famosa en los años 1900 más que todo al principio por los atractivos que la rodean en dónde podemos incluir al ya mencionado en mi post anterior la cervecería Munich.
Existe un dato curioso sobre ésta costanera referente a las aguas que allí se encuentran y es que a principios del siglo pasado, más específicamente en los años 1920 sí estaba permitido bañarse pero no era tan sencillo...
Las mujeres y hombres debían hacerlo por separado y adicional a esto no permitían que lo hicieran después de las 19hs ya que esto podía ocasionar que cayeran en las tentaciones nocturnas. ¿Que tal? 🤣
During my tour of this side of the city I came across a monument to the cab driver, which I was totally unaware of. A work made by sculptor Fernando Pugliese that makes reference to these private transport workers in the republic inaugurated in 2012.
The car emphasizes those used in the 60's, however at that time the cabs were not painted yellow as in the present but their colors could vary.
In addition to this I leave a photo of the large buildings with a small reflection on a rainy day.
Durante el recorrido que realicé por este lado de la ciudad me encontré con un monumento al taxista, el cual desconocía totalmente. Una obra realizada por el escultor Fernando Pugliese que hace referencia a estos trabajadores del transporte particular en la república inaugurado en el año 2012.
El automóvil hace énfasis en los utilizados en los años 60 sin embargo para esa época los taxis no estaban pintados de amarillo como en el presente sino que sus colores podrían variar.
Además de esto les dejo una foto de los grandes edificios con un pequeño reflejo en un día de lluvia.
On my way back home walking along the big avenues of the city I came across this building and it caught my attention because it seemed to be cut on one side or from behind. It is common knowledge that I love architecture and I usually write posts about it, so I thought it would be interesting to take some pictures.
When we go out on the street it is always essential not to forget to look up, to the sides and even to the floor. For me it's impossible to walk and not imagine angles, perspectives regarding every step I take, I don't know if it happens to someone else or if I'm just crazy 😅

De regreso a casa caminando por las grandes avenidas de la ciudad me topé con este edificio y me llamo mucho la atención ya que pareciera que estuviese cortado en un costado o por detrás. Es de público conocimiento que me encanta la arquitectura y habitualmente realizo posts sobre ello, así que me pareció interesante tomar algunas fotografías.
Cuando salimos a la calle siempre es indispensable no olvidarse de mirar hacia arriba, a los costados incluso al piso. Para mí es imposible caminar y no imaginarme ángulos, perspectivas en cuanto a cada paso que doy, no sé si le pasa a otro o si solamente estoy loco 😅
