MYSELF AS A ROLE MODEL.

For some reason, I've never actually thought of myself as a role model and no one has ever told me that. I've only ever looked up to my mom because she's my true role model. However, having read the topic for this week's edition on the HIVE LEARNERS community, I got myself musing over the probability of being regarded as someone's role model.

To be honest, I can't deny the fact that I'm not a perfect person, I have my flaws but I'm confident in the fact that I possess some good qualities that make me stand out. And I believe that my attributes are worthy of emulation.

What are those attributes? 🤔

Well first of all, I'm reserved. It's not something I just assumed overnight but I get that a lot from most people I've met. I'm reserved in the sense that I'm not easily influenced by people or society, I'm independent of other people's opinions of me, I'm not wild but calm, respectful, humble, self-disciplined, modest, thoughtful and a good observer. I'm also quite slow to react and that makes me emotionally stable. Not everyone is privileged to possess this trait and I think it's something most people wish to have because it shows composure, self-awareness and responsibleness.

Secondly, I'm goal-oriented. I know what I want in life and I strive to achieve it. I believe that everyone has a purpose and we should live not just for the sake of living but in line with our purpose. Whenever I set a goal for myself, I'm always intentional and ernest about it. I like to exhibit determination and enthusiasm for whatever I want. I'm also willing to cut off from anything that could thwart my goals. I believe this quality of mine is worthy of emulation because it's rare, most people find it difficult to ascertain their purpose and goals thereby leading them to live astray or carelessly.

Last but not the least, I have a good heart. You know, we now seem to live in a world where having a good heart is considered a weakness but that's not true. I firmly believe that being good pays, so I won't stop being a good person 🙂. I'm naturally warm-hearted and selfless. Whenever chanced, I'm always willing to give a helping hand without expecting anything in return. And I like to put a smile on people's faces. I might be too nice but it doesn't mean I can easily be taken advantage of. I can be really smart with my mind and heart at the same time. Emulating this attribute will certainly make one live a more blessed, happier and peaceful life.

Conclusively, we shouldn't merely look up to our role models but also lead good examples as well. Nobody is perfect but it doesn't mean we should look down on ourselves. We can inspire others to imitate our good behaviors, so let's exhibit them often. Someone out there may be looking up to us.
