Constest #284 : Earrings inspired by the Albatross card
Hello my dear Hive family. If you see an Albatross nearby, then it's your lucky day!
I hope you are feeling well. I bring you this time a design based on the Albatross chart, this chart is inspired by a type of deep sea bird, usually seen traveling over the ocean.
While researching a little about this bird, I was entertained with one of the stories about this bird, and is that sailors say that this bird brings good luck if you see it while you go on the open sea. Another of the legends that I was able to investigate is that it is said that "this bird takes in the spirit of the people who die at sea".
It is a bird generally with white wings and the tips of the wings tend to be dark, with a bit of gray on them.
In Splinterland this card serves the function of evading melee or ranged attacks from monsters that don't have the Flying ability. So here's my entry for this week's #284 contest in Splinterlands
Its beautiful plumage has inspired me to create some plumage earrings based on the Albastross card. I also took advantage of the coincidence of having some chicks at home that have changed their plumage and are black and white feathers.
This is a very jealous mother hen, so I got these cute chick wings for the change of plumage they shed. You can usually see a lot of them in the back of the house. So it wasn't hard to find them. They should be washed before use with a little water and bleach and just let dry to use.
We will need the following materials.
- Feathers (I used natural feathers, but you can also buy synthetic ones).
- Hook
- Nylon
- 10 beads
Step by Step.

We take the hook and on this we are going to pass a piece of nylon 12 cm long, once we pass it through the ring of the ring we divide it in half and then proceed to insert two pearls.

After inserting the two main pearls, we must take a distance with the ends of the nylon and insert a pearl.

Taking a distance of 3 cm we are going to insert the nylon through the upper part of the bead to fix it in that position, pulling the nylon and fixing the bead.
Next we are going to take the gray feathers and we are going to insert them in the lower part of the pearl. In this case the feather does not need any glue because it fits perfectly under pressure in the hole, however, if you want to make sure that the feather does not come out you can apply some instant glue.

Next we do this with the other bead, following the same procedure as above.

Then we must put a nylon in the central part, for this we introduce the nulon between the central beads and press the nylon to repeat the same procedure also with the third nylon.
This would be the final result of our process.

Espero se encuentren muy bien. Les traigo en esta ocasión un diseño basado en la carta Albatross, esta carta está inspirada en un tipo de pájaro de alta mar, generalmente se le ve viajando sobre el océano.
Mientras indagaba un poco sobre esta ave, pude entretenerme con una de las historias sobre este ave, y es que cuentan los marineros que esta ave trae mucha suerte si la ves mientras vas en mar abierto. También otra de las leyendas que pude investigar es que se dice que "este pájaro cobra en él, el espíritu de las personas que fallecen en alta mar".
Es un ave generalmente de alas blancas y en las puntas de este este tiende a ser oscuras, con un poco de gris en estas.
En Splinterland esta carta cumple la funcion de evadir ataques cuerpo a cuerpo o a distancia de monstruos que no tienen la habilidad Volar. Así que esta es mi entrada para el concurso #284 de esta semana en Splinterlands
Su bonito plumaje me ha ocasionado poder inspirarme en crear unos aretes de plumaje basados en la carta Albastross. Ademas tambien aprovechando coincidencia de tener unos pollitos en casa que estan cambiado de plumaje y son de plumas blancas y negras.
Esta es una mamá gallina muy celosa, así que obtuve estas lindas alas de pollito por el cambio de plumaje que desprendieron. Generalmente se puede ver muchas en el fondo de la casa. Así que no fue difícil encontrarlas. Se deben lavar antes de utilizarla con un poco de agua y cloro y solo dejar secar para utilizarlas.
Necesitaremos los siguientes materiales.
- Plumas (he utilizado plumas naturales, pero también pueden comprar sintéticas)
- Gancho
- Nylon
- 10 Perlas
Paso a Paso.

Tomamos el gancho y sobre este vamos a pasar un pedazo de nylon de 12 cm de largo, una vez que lo pasamos por el aro de la argolla lo dividimos a la mitad y luego procedemos a insertar dos perlas.

Luego de insertar las dos perlas principales, debemos tomar una distancia con los extremos del nylon e insertar una perla.

Tomando una distancia de 3 cm vamos a insertar el nylon por la parte superior de la perla para fijar esta en esa posición, tirando así el nylon y fijando la perla.
Seguidamente vamos a tomar las plumas de color gris y vamos a insertar estas en la parte de abajo de la perla. En este caso la pluma no necesita ningún tipo de pegamento porque perfectamente encaja bajo presión en el agujero, sin embargo, si quieren asegurarse de que la pluma no se salga pueden aplicar un poco de pegamento instantáneo.

Seguidamente hacemos esto con la otra perla, siguiendo el mismo procedimiento anterior.

Luego debemos meter un nylon en la parte central, para ello introducimos el nulon entre las perlas centrales y presionamos el nylon para repetir el mismo procedimiento también con el tercer nylon.
Este sería el resultado final de nuestro proceso.
