Cuando en Agosto el Inter fue emparejado en el mismo grupo del Bayern y el Barcelona probablemente haya habido un gran sentimiento de pesimismo en el andar neroazurri, no porque el Inter no pudiese contra esos rivales, si no por lo que ha sido el equipo de Milan en Europa en las ultimas temporadas, cayendo eliminado en fase de grupos en muchas ocasiones, teniendo ciertas oportunidades para dar un paso al frente y desperdiciándolas generando cierta decepción.

2010 fue el ultimo año en que el Inter se corono campeón de Champions, aquella mítica tarde/noche en el Bernabeu con una actuación tremenda de Diego Milito y compañía; desde entonces, el Inter ha pasado por un proceso complejo de reestructuración general, llegando a tocar puntos bajos, levantando y llegando en 2020 a una final europea, aunque haya sido de Europa League, perdiéndola, también, dicho sea de paso.

Siempre hay que creer que se puede en este deporte, no obstante, la final parecía lejos para los de Inzaghi. UN HEROE INESPERADO - AN UNEXPECTED HERO

Ambos equipos realizaban un cambio de lo que seria su once habitual a lo largo de la temporada. Ake entraba por Walker en el City, y Brozovic se hacia presente en la mitad del campo del Inter sustituyendo a Mhkitaryan.

En la previa, la gente se animaba a dar pronósticos muy abultados, Bale, por ejemplo, pensaba que el City ganaría por 5 a 0. Y así

Sin embargo, el resultado final fue muy alejado de lo que muchos esperaban. Algo bien sabido es que el City, fuera de Etihad, se le complica un poco armar juego a gusto, prueba de ello es que en Champions ninguno de los duelos de visita en fase de eliminatoria pudo ganarlos.

El Inter se aferraba a su estilo y al sentirse con menor presión que los de Guardiola podían hacer su juego y en ocasiones generar peligro. El equipo de Pep, por algunos pasajes del partido, se notaba altamente incomodo; De Bruyne tenia que bajar hasta mitad de cancha para buscar profundidad con sus pases, Bernardo no podia irse de Di Marco quien lo marcaba muy bien.

Las complicaciones cityzens aumentaron cuando De Bruyne, cerca de los 30 minutos transcurridos, tenia que salir del campo por una lesión. Phil Foden se hacia presente en el campo.

Tras la primera mitad, Pep les dijo a sus dirigidos que entendía los nervios, pero que no se desesperaran y jugaran a lo que saben -palabras de Julián Alvarez al ser entrevistado al final del partido- y así fue. Hicieron caso.

Lautaro tenia una oportunidad maravillosa en un descuido de Akanji, pero Ederson empezaba a convertirse en figura al mejor estilo Courtois en la final de la Champions de Paris 2022.

El City adelantaba sus líneas a lo mismo que el Inter esperaba a la contra, ese plus de permitirle al City acercarse al área genero que Bernardo Silva pudiese profundizar y una vez lo consiguió, llegaría el gol del encuentro: Bernardo silva recibía un pase al espacio de Akanji, y en una jugada un poco sucia donde el Inter no podía despejar el pase atrás del portugues, Rodrigo aparecía para, con potencia y colocación, vencer a Onana y colocar el gol definitivo.

Increíblemente segundos después del gol, Lukaku tendría una ocasión clarísima para empate, pero el Belga fallaba y para colmo, entorpecía el remate de Di Marco que pudo haber significado el empate.

El Inter ataco con todo, sin embargo Ederson empezó a agigantarse y con sus atajadas aseguro la victoria y la Champions llegaba, por fin, a la institución celeste.

El gol llego al mejor estilo Guardiola, metiendo atrás al equipo rival a base de pases encontrando al hombre libre. Rodrigo no es especialmente un goleador, mas bien es una especie de brújula en el mediocampo que genera orden cuando las cosas pintan caóticas, aun así, el Español marco el gol que quedara en la historia de un equipo que ha venido dominando en Inglaterra a placer, pero que en Europa le faltaba un paso. Lo ha conseguido.

Soy hincha del Milan, aun así debo decir que la forma de competir del Inter me ha hecho guardar respetos para el equipo de Inzaghi, le jugaron al City muy bien y de no ser por las increíbles ocasiones falladas por Lukaku otro gallo hubiera cantado. Las actuaciones de Barella y Di Marco fueron para enmarcar, sin embargo han perdido, eso no quita lo lejos que llegaron.

Finaliza, con esto, una temporada mas, el City fue absoluto campeón a nivel general y Pep Guardiola ha obtenido por segunda vez en su carrera un triplete. Primero con el Barca, ahora con el City. Sin duda alguna, el mejor entrenador del deporte.
